Just thought I'd post this because this is a very long mission and I've seen some struggling with it, mostly when trying to stealth kill too liberally without taking proper precautions. It's also proof that contrary to what some here have said, the game is not scripted to have enemies automatically alerted after your first or second sniper shot.
I know silenced sniper shots don't alert enemies. I've cleared whole bases with sniper fire and the times they don't see a body they never even look for a killer.
Now, if you miss one of those shots they seem to be immediately alerted, but may not know your location.
I was thinking where did I miss the crossbow, then after checking the web, I found it is called the autocross and I have it available, just didn't know it.

I'm well aware of how stealth is botched. It's not unrealistic near misses would cause enough sound between the bullet whizzing by and it's nearby impact to alert them. It was like that in Far Cry 3 too, and it should be. The thing is though, no matter how much you point out the obvious, and even show video proof of what's possible, you're going to get people insisting stealth is "broken". I've been trying to tell the skeptics how stealth works in this game since it came out.
On the sidearm, normally I carry the M79 because it's invaluable for quickly taking out vehicles and keeping the bigger predators at bay while on foot, and it makes the supply drop missions with the Buzzer quick, but the Autocross is great for stealth missions. Of all the silenced sidearms it has very good stats. High damage, high mobility, decent range with the scope, etc. About the only slight negative is you can't retrieve the bolts.

Can you test with a reload before approaching the kills? I'm not at the stage where I have the Autocross on this playthrough.
On second thought, I think you're right. I forgot you have to reload to pick up bolts. I used to do that when killing random predators, but it's been so long since I stopped using the Autocross for everything but stealth missions.Originally Posted by satrow Go to original post
Killing all enemys while staying undetected / stealth during missions is absolutely possible in fc4 as long as the mission dont have let me call it "stealth is over now triggers" like city of pain or sleeping saints where you walk over a certain area ( trigger ) and the alarm is triggered or enemys are hostile even if noone ever saw you . All the Snow Mountain Missions from willis are trigger free , i kill´d every enemy in all wills snow mountain missions without sounding alarm , beeing detected or whatsoever .
I think the ultimate test would be to manage extraction in Escape From Durgesh within the actual 30 min starting time, plus 10 min of course for the chopper defense. It's pretty hard to do that though since you start with so little and need to grind for crafting, skills, weapons, and plants, all with a fair bit of Royal Army and predators everywhere you go.
I'm not sure I even understand the way your final time stats are calculated. I spent several attempts building up my supplies until I had the M79, A52, PKM, and Buzzsaw, with six slots of health, all health skills, and basically every other useful skill, and all but two rare skins for max explosives and heavy ammo. I even wasted some attempts just hunting and the clock ran out.
At the end of extraction though my time said something like 1:09:##. That just doesn't seem right if that's hours, min, sec. It would have to be WAY more than that.
The only reasons I do speedrun vids is 1) it involves WAY less time for encoding and uploading, 2) it can help show easy ways for those struggling, and 3) a lot of people don't have the patience to watch long vids.
I just did one of Death From Above, but honestly, that mission is way too short and easy to begin with. You pretty much have to spice up the wingsuit flying as much as you can to keep it interesting. IMO they could have picked a better mission for the final Willis job. Even Don't Look Down is pretty simple if you just follow the only stealth route they give you.
Kill or Be Killed would have been a MUCH better mission to end with. They'd only have needed to modify it slightly with a short plane strip added at the end. It's one of those missions that plays well with stealth or combat, or a combination of the two, and it's pretty long.
It took me a bit of time too to realize what that time stands for but as far as I can tell it's the longest run you've had. Probably one in which you took a few outposts and got awarded nice amounts of extra time.Originally Posted by Frag_Maniac Go to original post
Now that I think of it, you're right. I recall one run ending at 1:09 something.Originally Posted by BrainOW Go to original post
I assumed from what was being said though that the stat would apply to best time (least amount) in completing extraction. Turns out all it is is longest life.
