Keeping to the original issue for the thread, yes this is an issue. I also play keyboard and mouse. I have also largely stopped using the knives myself due to the auto aim and pathing issue in large part because once you get into N. Kyrat the more heavily armored AR units don't just keel over with one knife unless you're getting a pretty solid neck/headshot. With the auto aim, it tries to put the knives into torso shots or even lower from my experience. This is kind of why I try and make a B line for the silenced 50 cal so I can actually drop my targets silently rather than alerting every sentient being for 50 yards. The aim assist is really kind of a problem largely due to the knives not really being done correctly in the first place. Where exactly is the option for a held down knife throw that offers a 100% on target throw?

Not there till now .... and yes the auto aim / throw direction of the throwing knifes can be very awfull on those heavys with free necks when your aiming 100 % on the neck and the throwing knife system desides to throw in the chest ....

Speaking of throwing knifes in general ... since I normally play without the reticle feature turned on, I assume there's not any other method to "aim" since you as the player don't aim with your arm holding the knife, but use the small white reticle dot on the screen.

No and there you are speaking about the next problem of the throwing knives . Players who want to turn their reticles of basically cant use throwing knives at all because there is no crosshair when you want to throw it . I think its pretty bad made by ubisoft . They should have made it that when you want to throw a throwing knife a reticle should pop up even for player who turned reticle off in the main menu since the crosshair of the throwing knife is the ironsight of a weapon .

Yeah, was afraid of that ...

I'd like to use the feature more in fluid free-roaming activities because the concept is great, but being tied to the reticle on/off feature truly sucks.

Update: just submitted a ticket on this aspect of knife throwing ....

Yeah - should have added "FWIW" above ...

Change of subject: limited edition and Hurk missions -

What's the issue if you care to state, as the Hurk missions are showing up on my copy of limited edition?

I've got to argue that one if only for argument sake. The throw is still off and as such it's still not an accurate throw. Stupid aim assist. >.>

Yeah pisses me off realy too . It´s specialy realy bad when enemys do push ups or sit ups animatin when i aim for the head the throwing knife aim assist bugs out and the knifes are fly all over the place ...... Dont understand why ubisoft is adding such a noob cake in their game ..... But well then again ..... far cry 4 is for 18- so they need to help the kids aiming huh ? ..... Wish this franchise to grow up in the future and get away from those kid game attitudes in some points ....

Here's the most incredible throwing knife demonstration I've seen for Far Cry 4.

    too much distance ...
too much stable trajectory for knife ...

armor must protect from knife ... - only head attack !

    100% protect for heavy armored-soldiers !
