Explanation of "missing" exclusive content (myth buster).

I apologize for advance for a really long comment, but it can’t be done with two sentences…

Let’s put aside the questions why all this “content system” is so ridiculously complex and controversial and why the hell Ubisoft didn't publish any clear explanation of it, but instead made every effort to induce different expectations.
Also, let’s put aside missions that was already included within season pass (The Syringe and The Escape) and future content (Yetis and Overrun PvP mode).
Let’s talk only about so called “PREORDER BONUSES”.

After weeks of research I think I understand how it was supposed to work:

    1. If you PREORDER basic game for a basic price you get free upgrade to a “limited” edition, i.e. “Hurk’s return/redemption” (3 missions + harpoon) as a PREORDER BONUS (that you can play from day 1). So supposedly after Nov 18th you have to pay extra for a “limited” edition to get “Hurk’s return”.

    2. If you PREORDER basic game for a basic price from 4 specific retailers, in addition to Hurk’s return you get Blood Ruby, Yak Farm and 1 retailer specific weapon (all of that you can play from day 1).

    3. If you PREORDER “gold” edition, for a price of basic game + season pass, you get the whole “Hurk’s deluxe pack” (i.e. [3 Hurk’s missions & harpoon]+[ Blood Ruby]+[ Yak Farm]+[all 4 weapons]) as a PREORDER BONUS (that you can play from day 1). So supposedly if you bought “gold” edition after Nov 18th you get the same content as if you bought “limited” edition (or basic edition, it’s unclear) plus separate season pass.

    4. If you bought separate season pass after Nov 18th, you won’t get to play all that “preorder content” from day 1, but instead you’ll have to wait until it will be “released at a later date”. (You only have 3 Hurk’s missions + harpoon if you already have “limited” edition).

And here how the things really are:

    1. If you look at Ubisoft sale pages now, there is NO "Standard Edition", there is only "Limited":

    http://far-cry.ubi.com/en-GB/store/index.aspx
    http://shop.ubi.com/store/ubiemea/en...imited-Edition

So it seems like there is actually no such thing as "Standard Edition", and everyone is supposed to have "Hurk's redemption". There are some places (Origin, for example) where it’s sold as “standard”, but the price is exactly the same.
But there are many people reporting they don't have Hurk’s missions, most of them bought specifically “limited” edition... So maybe there were number of "true" "Standard Editions" sold, which had keys that didn't include "Hurk's redemption". And the thing is you can’t know what you get, regardless of what the title says…

    2. This is the only part that eventually worked as intended, but the execution was a total disaster. To receive their preorder bonuses, customers of 4 specific retailers had to insert some “redeem code” in some web page (that doesn’t exist anymore) and then wait for a separate key sent by email… Many of them waited for weeks, some are still waiting…

Ah, and the “Machete bonus weapon” does not really exist, except from the arena animations… “Sorry, Best Buy customers, maybe someday we’ll make a separate melee shop category in the game so you could actually equip and fully enjoy your machete…” ))

    3. Ubisoft apparently forgot to include “Yak farm” within its “gold” edition. As gold edition owners we have all other “Hurk’s deluxe pack” content, except from this one…
Furthermore, even if you’ll buy “gold” edition only now, it will have exactly the same content as one that was “preordered”… It can’t be different, since all the content is embedded into the GAME SERIAL KEY ITSELF! So all this “preorder” business was a lie and everyone could easily wait till holyday sales and pay LESS money (on Steam, at least)!

    4. All season pass descriptions on Ubisoft sales and promotion pages could only create an opposite impression - that you get all “Hurk’s deluxe pack” content right after you bought and installed season pass. Only those who pre-ordered Ubi games before can actually understand their concept of "season pass", otherwise no one could guess that for some weird reason he have to wait several months for the content he PAID substantial price, while others can play the same add-ons from day one without paying a dime - only because they "pre-ordered"... Only word in Ubi season pass description that could imply that a buyer won't see some of the content from day 1 is "upcoming", but common sense could only interpret it as if it refers to a FUTURE addons like "The Yetis", which is being currently developed and no one has it yet...
ONLY at Jan 12th Ubisoft published for the first time something with any detailed schedule (link), and BTW this page still does not exist if you choose EN(US) and some other languages as a display language of the support site... See it for yourself:

WHERE TO FIND SEASON PASS CONTENT

    Any comment?..

    **************
Just to illustrate that all "preorder" content is actually embedded into the main game key and not the season pass, here's the example of gold edition activation data:

(You can open your own Account information from Uplay window):

So as you can see, before they update season pass content, you can ONLY have what you got with your main game key, that's it.

To give you any additional existing content Ubisoft has two options -
    they can either send you personally a separate key to unlock stuff (like it was with customers of specific retailers);
or they can do it with global patch that will add this piece of content to everyone who paid for it...

Everyone who heard thing or two about Ubisoft understands that both options are kind of a big deal for them...
So don't grow your hopes to get something real from support...

    ********
    UPDATE:
The miracle happened - Ubisoft updated the whole season pass with all “Hurk’s deluxe pack” content just 3 days after my last interaction with the support on this issue... ))))) (see my communication history with them several comments below)

    Hi,
a real nice collection of facts so far ! Thanks for the insight.

    I would add the following:

    1) The Syringe Mission was clearly NOT a Day 1 content for people who did purchase the season pass separately, atleast in Europe. In the US it was available from the start.... I really had to "fight" quite a while with support, but no help either, but fortunately... enough people seemed to complain about this, so on January 6, 2015 it finally hit the europe store... So from release of the season pass until then you literally got... nothing.

    2) The preorder action has been cancelled in early january WITHOUT notice by taking down http://www.farcrygame.com/preordercode ... for US Gamestop customers (blood ruby only) there seems still to exist a "hidden" site where they STILL can redeem their code https://farcry-bloodruby.ubi.com/?lang=en-US (i tried with my 19 digit amazon code to be sure, did NOT work...., so a 2 class system of treating customers again) The whole system was "designed" in a 2 step fashion, to easily cut off the preorder action and boost the season pass sales (would possibly be harder to sort out the REAL psn codes for example). Some customers reported that the 3rd party retailers didnt even know about this and kept selling editions with those preorder codes....

    3) Fortunately i got durgesh prison on PS3 on January 14th (surprisingly for free, as i have bought the season pass back on Nov. 27th) , but a LOT of Xbox users report they are being charged again for the DLC (even with seasonpass) ! and even some PS3 and PS4 customers say its STILL not available... WTF is going on there....

    4) and i wonder when actually the Hurk Deluxe Pack will be "released" ... as all content exists already but is locked on disc. Is it that hard to release a small keyfile.... ? (perhaps it is, taking into account that content might exist partially on the users hard drive, hmmm)

So, that were my 2 cents for this.

P.S. ok, hmmm after reading ALL of the above post again, seems i added points here which dont belong here.... so please ignore 1) and 3)

Its perfectly OK, scorpion8181, the paragraphs numeration doesn't exactly match the one in 1st comment, but the info is very interesting and adds a lot to my mostly PC-oriented post...
I know very little about how exactly it was for consoles users, so thank you very much for that!

I bought the gold edition for Xbox One after the release of Far Cry 4.

The only things I can play/download are the syringe and durgesh.

It's not possible for me to download any of the Hurk missions from xbox live.

But why can I download a separate season pass file if it unlocks nothing in game, but is still a 8-9 MB file? Like the Syringe mission. I don't know. Maybe there is something wrong with the season pass file on consoles.

I hope they release a separate Hurk Deluxe Pack download fairly soon or allow us to download Hurks Redemption and yak farm / blood ruby

For those who haven't noticed yet, the Hurk Deluxe Pack is now available for season pass and gold edition owners. At least on PC and Xbox One. For PS3 and PS4 tomorrow.

    Thank you Ubisoft!

Unfortunately as we have not yet set a release date for this content we cannot say when it will be out. All I could suggest is that you keep an eye on the following website for any updates on this:

    http://far-cry.ubi.com/en-gb/home/index.aspx

What I would suggest, however, is that these things are usually done with a certain amount of time between each one so if the game came out in November and the next DLC was released in January it is possible that this trend will continue but this is strictly speculation and I could not really say one way or the other.

OK, thanks, sorry if I made an impression that I hold you personally responsible for that misinformation...
Obviously, you're not the person to address on this matter, I just hope that people who are responsible will really listen to you and will finally understand that the things have to be changed immediately...

Is there any way to know when we should expect this mission will be added to the season pass? Is this a matter of weeks, months, half a year, a year? I will really appreciate any hint, Ubisoft can't keep us in the dark completely, right?

    Thank you.

As I have said previously I understand how this may have been miscommunicated and have passed this information on so hopefully we can avoid situations like these in the future.

I can only apologise for this but unfortunately, as this DLC is a part of the season pass which releases over time instead of all at once, you will simply have to wait until this content is released before you can play it.

If you need any more assistance with anything else please do not hesitate to contact us again and we will do our best to help.

    Hi
Thanks for a surprisingly quick response.

If I would have bought a season pass separately, I wouldn't argue. After weeks of research I got what your intentions was. Although all your season pass descriptions on your sales and promotion pages could only create an opposite impression - that page you link me to appeared only at Jan 12th, and BTW still does not exist if you choose EN(US) and some other languages as a display language of the support site...

And if I wasn't provided with any clear and true information, the only things I can base my conclusions on are those pieces of info you did provide and logic...
For example you're saying that Blood Ruby was a pre-order bonus only for customers of specific retailers. Apparently not, since all Gold edition owners DO have it from day 1, same as 4 exclusive weapons, every one of which was also a pre-order bonus from one of mentioned retailers. (Heck, I even didn't have to pre-order, anyone who buys Gold edition now, will have exactly the same content as I do, it's a proven fact!). And Hurk Deluxe Pack is in every description of gold edition, and it always includes FIVE missions - Hurk, Blood Ruby AND Yak Farm! How can ANYONE possibly understand that his gold edition doesn't cover ONLY this one particular mission from day one, when every piece of info you publish points to the opposite conclusion??
And his claim that he haven't got what he was promised would be absolutely valid!

There is a HUGE contradiction between the reality and your published information, you REALLY have to sort it up, If your intention is to reduce number of confused and disappointed customers and to decrease amount of complaints sent to your already flooded support...

    Thank you and kind regards.

The content you are referring to (Hurk Deluxe Pack) is a part of the Season Pass. The Season Pass is periodically released over a period of time. You can find information on what content is unlocked with which parts of the Season Pass here:

    https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/FAQ/9/...0000000ek2KCAQ

As you can see the Hurk Deluxe Pack has not yet been released. The other content you have gotten from this pack is because of your pre-order and not because you own the Hurk Deluxe Pack.

I understand that the advertisement of this may have been confusing and will pass this feedback on to the correct people so that we can look into changing the wording of this.

It is clearly stated, however, that these missions are a part of the Season Pass. You get the Hurk's Redemption missions early for buying the Gold Edition, Blood Ruby for pre-ordering from specific retailers (for example Amazon customers got the Yak Farm instead) and the rest of the content is part of the Season Pass.

If it was not clear that the Season pass would be released over time instead of all at once I will pass this information on to have this looked into.

Sorry once again for the miscommunication.

    Thank you for the reply.

You present that statement ("the gold Edition does not cover Yak farm") as a fact, but this information is nowhere to be found.
On the contrary, in EVERY description you published you clearly described Yak farm as an integral part of "Hurk deluxe pack" that IS gold edition pre-order bonus! And indeed, everyone who pre-ordered gold edition has all other advertised components of "Hurk deluxe pack" from day 1 - 3 Hurk missions + Impaler, "Blood Ruby" and 4 exclusive weapons - all but the "Yak farm"...

You NEVER said that "Yak farm" is a day 1 exclusive ONLY for those who pre-ordered from specific vendors.

If for some reason you didn't include this particular mission within gold edition pre-order bundle, it should be clearly stated in the description of the product. If you failed to do so, your obligation is to provide those who pre-ordered gold edition with clearly advertised but missing piece of content ASAP, and at least publish a CLEAR statement with detailed and true description of what gold edition is supposed to cover. I don't even talk about an apology to those who were confused and mislead by your false advertisements...

Also I'd like to refer you to the fact that the whole "gold edition pre-order" statement wasn't exactly true, since apparently everyone who pre-ordered gold edition on Steam could easily wait till holiday sales and pay LESS money to get a game with EXACTLY the same day 1 content!..

Thank you for support and kind regards.

Sorry for the lateness of this response. We have been quite busy and I can only apologise for how long this response has taken to get to you.

You only get the Yak farm through the Season Pass and this content has not yet been released via the season pass.

All I can recommend that you do is keep an eye on the official Far Cry 4 website for when this content it released.

Some players can get the Yak Farm early through pre-ordering from specific vendors but the gold Edition does not cover this so unfortunately you will simply have to wait for the release date which has not yet been announced.

Sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Activation Key / Redeem Code: [edited]

I preordered the Gold edition on Steam, and got 3 Hurk's missions, Blood ruby, The Syringe and 4 bonus weapons.
I'm missing "Yak Farm" mission, although I almost finished the game and completed a "Key to the North" a while ago.
I know from youtube videos where it's marker is supposed to appear on the map (yellow star at the eastern end of the lake East of Varshakot, near other DLC missions), and it isn't there.
Apparently something went wrong with downloadable content activation...

I'm sending you all my activation data from Steam and Uplay.
Please, help me with this issue.

Thank you for support and best regards
