    some gameplay questions (ps4)

i recently started playing this game and i am finding some things really frustrating about it... i don't know if its just me not knowing all of the basics of the game because there is no manual, or if the developers just made the game that way. but all of these issues are seriously annoying me and reducing my enjoyment of the game so if its a me not knowing problem, i could really use help fixing it

    1) is there a place to view the details of the quest you are on? i can't find any log or journal and i occasionally forget what i am supposed to be doing.

    2) i am CONSTANTLY getting a message that i am "leaving a quest zone and if i continue i will fail the mission" and it is driving me NUTS. i don't want to be forced into doing the quests all of the time, i want to wander around and get things for crafting or find side quests or just explore, and this message restricting me to a small area is making the game really suck. and as in (1), if there is a quest journal to switch quests or pause them or discard them, i can't find where it is.

    3) saving game - is there a way to trigger the game to save. i've looked in all the options and i can't find anywhere to let myself save game. it only seems to save when i've just started a mission or when i get to the main location for my current quest that i've been forced into, and i'm so tired of losing all my progress if i die. so many times i have spent an hour crafting and exploring before doing what the game wants me to do, and then i'll die from something, and everything i just spent an hour doing is wiped out. it makes me not even want to do or make or sell anything because there is a big risk all that effort will be pointless in the end if something kills me before i get around to finishing the quest i am on.

if anybody can help me on these it would be great. i got this game because i was told it is an open world game and while the world is big its not really "open world" if you're forced into a linear quest path that you're not allowed to deviate off of or else mission fails and you have to reload, or if you can't go around doing other things because the awful save game design makes it a waste of time to try and do anything but the main quest.

    1. The map has basic mission objectives in the upper left

    2. At the start of the game you need to progress through Act 1, which culminates in taking your first Outpost, before you can explore with no out of bounds warnings. You'll be limited to the south region until you get to a certain mission to unlock the north though. Any other such warnings can be overcome by just going to the menu page and choosing Abandon Mission until you are done exploring, then go back to the mission.

    3. Here you are definitely right, starting a mission is the most reliable way to save game progress, but I suggest you only do that if you really want to continue on with the mission once you restart the game. If you abandon it, you may be reverted to a checkpoint that does not include all your progress up to that point.

Session saves however can be created via the Save tab, which are very handy once setting up outside any non scripted mission, such as outposts, and allow you to quit (to menu, not exit game entirely) then relaunch to that point, if you make certain mistakes such as blowing stealth. Obviously you have to catch it before you actually kill the last enemy though, or you'll be stuck with whatever status you unlocked it with (eg Liberated or No Alarms, vs Undetected).

Did you have any luck with solving the ridiculous save problem? As to me this games no longer worth my time until they put in more autosaves or manual save.

What are you suppose to do once you have completed all the story if it never saves after that!?!
