Seems to be an age old problem at this point. After the first cut scene the audio cuts out.

The catch is that I only get this problem when my computer is hooked up to HDMI and for that reason, the Ubisoft tech guy I spoke to on the phone wrote me off and specifically told me that nobody in all of Ubisoft will take an interest in my case.

I suppose I should call back and point out that Farcry 4 is the ONLY game I've ever had this problem with so how is that not Ubisoft related?

Well....maybe I will call back. But until I decide to do that, here are a few references with ready made fixes that didn't work for me.

(Ubisoft tech support email)
1. Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Playback devices".
2. In the window that appears, right-click the default playback device and select "Configure Speakers".
3. Check to be sure that the Stereo option is selected.
4. While the default device is still selected, click on "Properties" at the bottom of the "Playback devices" window.
5. Go to the Advanced tab on the next window, and set the Default Format to 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality).

Outside of this, there are thousands of miscellaneous similar problems and forums all over the internet and I 'could' spend the rest of my life trying to solve this seemingly trivial problem. Or I could post this thread on the Ubisoft tech support forum and pray that the Ubisoft Gods will take mercy on the suffering of a paying customer and avid Farcry fan. Or maybe true blue value customer service just doesn't have a place in the wake of a successful enterprise that can afford customer cannon fodder. Or am I truly the only ubisoft fan that's ever been sloughed?
