Anyone know how to request a refund from Ubisoft?

It appears the issue I am having with the game has been around for a while with no clear date of when/if it will be fixed. Therefore I am looking at requesting a refund for this product. Does anybody know how I go about that? The 'returns policy' link on their website suspiciously refuses to load.

If you bought it from the Uplay / Ubi shop, go to http://shop.ubi.com/ , log in then click the "Help" link near the top right corner. You'll need to click through several FAQ's etc to get to the support form, go from there.

If you bought it elsewhere, in most countries you'll need to contact the retailer from whom you bought it.

I bought the game through a legit cd key service, but since Far Cry 4 not working isn't their fault, I'm guessing they will be less than willing to refund my £20.99.

So am I basically screwed as far as a refund is concerned? Ubisoft haven't responded to my support ticket

    They don't respond to tickets.
Tickets are merely their to fool you into thinking this soulless company gives a **** and if you just hold the line one of our operators will be with you in a minute.

    If you get a refund...
in fact if they actually respond to your ticket then I have a stone here for you and want to see if you can perform another miracle by getting blood from it

I was thinking of asking for a refund under Sale of Goods Act 1979 as it is simply not fit for purpose. And in the UK we have this Sale of Goods Act 1979 which states that goods have to be fit for purpose, which Farcry 4 has not been since day 1.

Support do respond, but they're a bit swamped at the moment. I've always had response from the few tickets I've found it necessary to submit (bearing in mind that I'm NOT an ubisoft employee and get no special treatment from support).

Just register a complaint with your local consumer law enforcement department or agency.
In Australia it is the ACCC. They take these type of matters seriously. I hold out no chance of a refund, and to be honest i don't care.
However if enough complaints are received Ubisoft may have a heavy fine imposed for defrauding the public by knowingly selling a broken product.
This alone would be satisfactory in my book.

Complained on here and problem was solved in under 10 minutes with just one email from them.
Disgusting. They said they'd respond within 2 days and didn't. No messages saying things might take a bit longer which I would've accepted and waited.

Being snowed under is fine, although shows that clearly there is a lot wrong with this company and it's products, but the email address that don't work and not informing its customers of delays and instructions that are missing key vital bits of information that would've avoided all this show just how poorly organised this company has become.
Last time I played an ubisoft game on a pc was on an Amstrad.
This I'll dig it out and stick to playing their games on that machine.
