0xc000007b and the fact that I still can't play a game I bought.

Bet this game is great. Pictures and videos have been teasing me forever.

Too bad tech support and not even a fresh install of my OS (Win 8.1 Pro 64) can get me past the 0xc000007b error. Along with tons of other people.

Going to fix this anytime soon or just keep telling everyone to randomly re-install programs, updates, and their entire computer?

    Just wondering.

Only program/game that gives me an issue. Never had a problem like this before with paid for software!

try going to the games support directory

    reinstall the following

from the Far Cry 4 support /software directory

    direct X

game launcher <--optional as you should have the newest u play client updated once you log on to uplay

microsoft.Net framework 4 <------------------------ this can take some time on some systems to fully install ............. be patient

    and

    VCredist

also go to your task bar exit out of any and all programs you do not need loading at windows start up running in the background of the game ..examples are Msi Afterburner and riva tuner and Dxtory if you have those installed or running ....exit out of those they are all known issues that can cause the game to hang

    unplug all game controllers ..

    then

also verify your game files after you have done all that

To verify your files if you bought the game thru Steam

go to your Steam games library

right clik on far cry 4

    select properties

    select local files

select verify Integrity of game cache

it takes a few min to do but its faster the re downloading your entire game , if its only a few files that were corrupt or installed incorrectly .... this in many cases will fix your problems getting the game to start

If you have the U play only Version of the game you can also verify your game files with U play

if you have the game via u play only here are instructions how to verify your game files thru their client

    then try your game again

Thanks for the time to reply, I appreciate it, but all you did was repeat what every tech support person and forum has already told me over and over.

It doesn't work. Game = fail.
