I just wanted to say thank you for Ubisoft for producing a brilliant game. Despite all the people knocking because this is not quite right etc. I have found it brilliant. Great to play a non linear game. I am playing it on a PS3 and it looks fantastic. I will getting a PS4 in a month or so and cant wait to play it over again.

Oh? This was early in the game, no wingsuit yet. On top of the mountain, in a mission...couldn't backtrack to go down, couldn't use the gear to repel down. The games solution was to "slide" down the mountain like I was on a snowboard, for a good 200 meters. The sad part is that this actually worked. I tried using common sense to get down and the game wouldn't let me.
Story missions are painfully linear, side missions are painfully linear and scripted. The in-between mission free roaming is fun, aside from the fact that the game has multiple areas, even up to halfway through, where you "can not enter...yet". Why? If this is a sandbox/free roam game, then stop putting out of boundary lines. It creates a sense of lineal environment.
Jeez, STILL harping about linearity? Seriously?
I find it odd you created a thread on the subject, yet only came up with TWO missions about it, and you never even responded to the part where I pointed out you were in fact incorrect.
And in your video, what you don't show is that there are plenty of good vantage points without wandering off that far. In some cases the out of bounds warning also keeps missions from being too easy via sniping from afar with no detection.
The one comment you got on that video was apropos, "It's no aweful you just suck at it ". LOL

So, enlighten me, how does sitting up there "sniping" from a vantage point help me in searching dead bodies? I didn't want to be up there, I wanted to get down, and the only option was to climb down. Grapple? No go. Backtrack and find a path down? Nope. Slide down the mountain (Only way off that cliff if you took 3 seconds and looked). Yes! I mean, who wouldn't just ski down a mountain on your boots when you have a grapple and common sense equipped.
I'm not even halfway through the game, I'll surely give you some more. I already mentioned both of Willis' snow missions. The prison escape mission, the find De Pleur with stealth then get auto-spotted mission, etc. Every story mission is linear. Zero freedom. The game even tells you that you fail if you don't kill a guy with a certain weapon, or if you don't kill him with stealth (who gives a crap).
I am not incorrect, you are. I already proved you wrong.
The out of bounds even existing is destructive to this game, and adds nothing. I was trying to get down so I could complete the dumb mission.
Well I guess now we know you're an uneducated redneck. I'll take his spelling over your immature, moronic, predjudiced trash talk any day.Originally Posted by travlsr Go to original post
And you DID state in that other thread that you were defenseless while carrying De Pleur. Seriously, you don't acknowledge that as completely wrong? Like you never even tried using your sidearm while doing so?
I'm beginning to wonder if you even know the meaning of idiot. I have a clue for you, look in the mirror, that is if it's not too caked with pimple puss from the white trash kid staring into it cluelessly.
