Why is the parachute dependent on the wingsuit?

    Hi all,

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but as far as I know the only way to use your parachute is to first use the wingsuit or a hanglider. Is this correct, or is there a way to just use the parachute?

If not, why not? Since Ajay has a parachute, he should just be able to use it. There are times when using a wingsuit wouldn't work, but a parachute would save your butt.

Considering he's carrying around 500 parachutes at all times, that should be possible.

Considering what he is capable of doing without any training whatsoever... he should be able to walk on water or the sky if he clicks his heels twice

It does sound illogical just like other things in the game. All games have illogical ideas or is it? It seem that the devs wanted to make the Wingsuit a unique feature, experience of the FC franchise. Had they done a parachute deployable separately from the Wingsuit, there's a chance that players will use the parachute more often than the Wingsuit, thus defeating its purpose. Here once again, in my view, Ubisoft is using their infamous business practice of shoving us with stuff/ideas without any options for the benefit of the player. In this sense, there's logic in their illogical idea - there was a plan. ^^ But to be fair, they aren't the only studio who does this. ^^

A seperate parachute activation key or mechanism would be a good idea in some situations to be honest . For example when you´r staying on a lip and want to drop to something right below the lip chances are high that when you use your wingsuit you dont get your parachute open´d to quickly and overshoot your target but with a seperatre mechanism to open the parachute you could drop straight down .

Exactly, plus in this very scenario, you will often accidentally deploy the wingsuit... them promptly bite the dust and insta-die. Just give the chute its own button and allow it to be deployed individually.

@lorca: I LOVE flying with the wingsuit (especially when you can go very far by tracing downhill roads) and I wouldn't use the chute over it unless the situation called for it.

Hopefully, in FC5 they modify the Wingsuit to be more "practical". I particularly don't find the Wingsuit that enjoyable since the maneuvers are a bit clumsy and slow for my taste. I sometimes crash against things like trees because I couldn't swerved fast enough, and going down is hard too.

I actually don't have an issue with the wingsuit when it comes to this. It's a wingsuit, it shouldn't have precise controls. I have a problem with hangliders. I can't use one of those without hitting a tree and instantly dying.

of course its dependent, how else could you let go and live? You don't get to parachute w/o a wingsuit or hang glider bec. you never want to just drop down vertically, you need either to travel in the air.
