people are getting out of hand , i totally agree with rude and examples i reffere people to my previous thread. People were genuine and annoyed about something and posted a thread in the correct manner and posted genuine concerns. The more people bash shifty the more i am begining to think maybe his treatment on this occasion was fitting to the ones who seem to just want to cause trouble.
He has given me alot of room in the past and i am sure he has most of the community so this constant use of the thread just to pull him down isnt helping anything. Where i was annoyed at the removal of threads upon his return i dont want to be apart of a sinister plot to gang up on the dude. This wasnt what i imainge the person who made the thread had in mind , but a pure genune frustrated response to a situation where any other avenue was bloked off.
No ship has sunk , i am still loving trials and hope it will continue , the game has hundreds of fantastic things about it and some good people. Everyone is human and therefore is open to human error. In the most part shifty has been a decent guy towards me and i aint going to pull the guy to shreds over the odd thing which i dont like. I will give my opinion on matters but not be part of the hate shifty gang because its just wrong and childish
I don't think the main problem is to do with the CM, it's the switch over that had brought negativity this way, how many times are you sick of signing in and just browsing the forum in anon status. I do it... but sometimes I do come on to display my opinion.
Thing is this is not about bashing at anyone... it's just a fact everyone misses how it used to be back on the old forums and no one likes the change this has been led too.
The forum has dwindled but the community is divided by each console too now.
I used to talk to many friends on here and they will surely be missed but they may be lurking just like many others still do. Maybe more will come to this community and liven things back up... and a new community will spur in time.
I've got nothing against Shifty personally, i dont even know the good man.
I dont like his strict moderation style and it seems that the majority of my fellow forum members agree.

See.. calling our community leader a dictator is, aside from not being fair, not an accurate description.
The moderation on this forum is similar to the way our western countries are being run nowadays.
Our liberal democracies have slowly been replaced by a system of inverted totalitarianism.

Obama is not a dictator and neither is Shifty. At least not in the classical sense of the word.
I want to give an example of something that Obama has done, that kind of compares to the way this forum is being run:
If you follow the news and world events like i do, you may remember the Occupy Wall Street movement and their legitimate protest
in the heart of New York City in 2011. The peaceful protesters (who didn't brake a single law) were eventualy broken up by police forces
in a brutal way on orders from the White House.
Obama let them protest for a while, but when things started to get real and the majority of America started supporting the movement, Obama shut them down.
Shifty seems to have the same style of running this forum.
He lets us talk relatively freely (as long as we dont curse) but when things get out of hand (from shifty's perspective)
or when things start to get real (from our perspective) he shuts the whole thing down and deletes the thread.
Sure, he always has a quasi-legitimate reason to end the conversation.
When you have so many rules and so many vague ones, its not too difficult to find one that has been broken.
He could probably shut the whole forum down if he followed the rules 100% exact.
We now live in a world where we have only have the appearance of freedom and the rule of law.
In reality, our leaders do what they want. unimpeded and without accountability, against the will of the people.
If this weren't true then the last 2 American presidents would both be in jail right now.
Sadly, the same thing is going on, on this forum.
This site has the appearance of a place where people are free to voice their opinion but in reality
that freedom is very limited and we all have to watch our words and always be afraid that our posts will get deleted.
Im sorry if i have overexaggerated things but this is how i feel.
The WILLYUMZ thread has been retitled and reopened. Removing it may have been a mistake, but threads that turn into bashing of other players shouldn't be acceptable no matter their standing in the community.
A few things I would like to say before I bow out of this thread;
1. I should not have confronted vladi in the way that I did & in such a public manner. My intention was not to have the anger of community members directed towards him. His posts got under my skin, and I reacted poorly in a situation when posting a reply when I should have ignored him.
2. I am not a forum moderator but I don't have enough moderators on the team to handle Fusion, Evo, Frontier & "Other", so I take up a lot of the tasks that would typically go to them. We have 2 moderators now, Barry and Dumptruck. Barry isn't around a whole lot, and while I am happy FOR him, I am feeling the strain of the load that he carried. llDumptruckll is pretty much exclusively on Frontier. I used to think that I was doing things correctly, but it's likely that I am being overly strict. That's what I'm picking up from this thread as well, and I'll try to do better to find that happy middle ground.
3. The forum migration happened a bit earlier than I had expected, and I've apologized for it before, but I'll do it again. I'm sincerely sorry for the abrupt change to the forum environment and the issues it caused for quite a few users. I was preparing to post on the old forums that the migration would be taking place in a few weeks, but when I tried to log in, the migration had already occurred. That was a misunderstanding on my part, and totally my fault, but the migration was 100% going to happen at some point, I just wasn't expecting it to be so soon and the timing was obviously less than ideal.
4. Why would I remove webchat? Because it is run by RedLynx, but we have no real moderation coverage of the channel. I wouldn't remove it "to take something away" from you guys, but there are rules/procedures that should be followed on official channels that we currently can not meet with webchat. I used to spend a great deal of time in webchat, but my job has evolved through being a fan, to a volunteer moderator, to a paid member of the RedLynx staff. Honestly, we just don't have any active moderation in what amounts to an official channel, which isn't how it should be at all. Most of the people I used to chat with will always be considered my friends, but just as my position in the community changed, my interactions had to change a bit as well. I got a ton of support from the chat people when I was going through a ton of bad stuff with my mother becoming sick and eventually passing away. You guys had my back in a bad time and I will always be grateful for that and unable to repay you.
5. Are the forums a dictatorship? Not really. While I may be "in charge" of this section of the forums, I don't write the rules, I just try to enforce them as I read them. The rules are what they are and that's what I have to work within. The old forums were 100% my responsibility, these forums.... not so much. Our section is a little slice of the bigger picture, and I am in no way in control of policy. We have Forum Managers and Global Moderators who have been, for the most part, leaving us alone in out little area. I have tried my best to keep our little community to itself in regards to the migration, but I can reach out and say "we're ready" and they'll step in a bit and take over some of the tasks that I've been trying to cover. If that happens, then there is no coming back to how it works now, with only people who know this community being "in-charge". Maybe it is time to do so. It's possible that my wanting to keep our forum community self-contained has been more harmful than beneficial.
And now my post is a huge wall of text, so clicking this "Post Quick Reply" button is slightly funny.
