Let me make one thing clear, I have no grievance with Shifty. I like the guy, and he is in a no win situation here. He has a chain around his neck and he has to show he is towing the corporate line.

RL sold their souls and this is unfortunate for all of us. Trying to fit as many eggs in one basket as the mighty hierachy tell them to, with god knows how many versions of the game, how many different angles they can conceive out of the Trials format, even wanting a slice of the mobile market. What next, Trials Devolution-Spectrum 48k version? Trials 'we'll conquer the world'-Amstrad CPC 64 version? Trials 'FMX is cool, really'-Sega Saturn version?

Having to worry about saying the wrong thing, being treated like we're children at primary school. Removing those threads really did knock the stuffing out of me if I'm honest, and is just the latest occurrence to make me question just what is expected and what we can actually do here. Very disappointed.

Barry, if you happen to read this, these forums are not better than the one we had. I don't care what you say to the contrary.

as always people do seem to jump of the band wagon of something and take it from its correct course , this thread was made obviously in response to other posts being deleted which was giving the room a good vibe and was done whilst the devs was happy on holiday in which the community found away of entertaing our selves. I would have thought the more positive attitude would have been embraced and deemed as good instead of returning to an all out war on shiftys return and find us all tearing the walls down. To then slap us in the face and delete our time and effort for which he has given no apparent reason other then we have to all keep positive posts to private messages and also lock us out of any response is one that will however its done cause negativity within a a community run place and cause a response that some may not like. its enevitable like agent smith say

However i will say that whilst this post was made for the correct reasons by a geniune member i would like to stress that members try not to give any reason for this to be turned back on our selfs. Keep to the point of the thread , we have a right to entertain our selfs whilst the holiday period and we are left to keep the room running our selvs. Redlynx asks this to be a community and all we have done that in the quite period is pull together and have fun with a few things. Thats what community do and dont expect to be dictated to which can only possibly cause aggrevation and unrest. There could possibly be another reason for what shifty has done and some of us might not understand this and if this is the case then thats not our fault we are short of a decent explination as to way our efforts in keeping the room runing in a quite time as been credited with a slap in the chops. The posts werent all that important but what they represented was most important to the running of a room community because we are the community and we posted them.

Like i said , no reason to bring up every fault about redlynx or anything else other than what the thread is about , no band nor any wagon here lol

i think shifty should maybe explain alittle more as to way this has been done because he might have good reason but didnt want to say.

I am so disappointed with this thread/situation right now. The willyumz thread had discussion like the old days, constructive, critical, yet fair and generally polite. Very reminiscent of what made our forum so great. Inquisitor -you are wrong in saying the conversation/behaviour was toxic - they are simply opinions which people should have a right to express. I honestly don't think people want to create a bad atmosphere here. I, for one, remember the good times as paramount.

I don't really post much as I'm a bit of a lurker, but I was a member of the old forum (when T2SE came out) and the atmosphere was noticeably better than it has been at the Ubi forums. I think the main problem is that they now have to work within Ubi's rules rather than their old Redlynx forums rules, which I felt were a bit more relaxed.

The way I see it is that the old forum was a bit like a family run pub that has a certain charm about it and the landlords wouldn't call the police if a small bit of trouble broke out, the Ubi forums are a bit like a pub-chain owned by a corporation that doesn't even tolerate any kind of hijinks at all. Bland corporatism trying to please everyone at the same time but ends up feeling hollow..

Hope this does get sorted though as the community and game-reps used to be a lot closer relations wise. The forums are like a still pond nowadays with only a ripple of activity every now and then.



(all this comes from my view as an outsider who has lurked at both forums for years - it doesn't affect me too much as I rarely post and interact, but even I can see it is hurting some long-time and quite active members pretty badly - maybe the way they respond some times is not right but if they didn't care at all about the game etc they wouldn't bother)

Whoa whoa, whats the matter with all of you? Shifty is an classic HERO. He unveiled Vladiii's true colors and served him on a platter for you to feast on. He worked very hard, moderating the forum very thoroughly dealing with all the reports that made this a very bad bad place. He poured in hours and hours of gettin the word out through PewDiePie and advertising THE game of the future with incredibly rich details such as next-gen tracks, never-seen-before objects, team tags and multiplayer! Oh did i mention multiplayer? Ease off on him guys, try to show some leniency for gods sake. I don't need to look up the definition for that now do i? Yeah? Ok Shifty, show em what leniency means. Shifty? Shift...??

Shifty's nothing more than a glorified forum moderator that throws his weight around. It's his attitude towards the forum members why I rarely post here.

Seems it's all about controlling the community, not encouraging it to flourish

The fact our "Community manager" wants to remove our web chat shows exactly what Redlynx have turned into, though I'm still confident in some of the devs and they won't allow you to do something so stupid. He has clearly forgotten that webchat was also the place that he came to and also spoke to people about the problems he was having at the time, i'm sure you know what i'm talking about. Not easily forgotten.

I was not aware a forum could be turned into a dictatorship, but you really are trying. Honestly don't know why you do the things you do now.

I honestly wish we could go back to the days that we didn't have mods, and the only mods we had were the actual devs, and you got to see them post and interact with the community, been a while since I got to see that.

The forum change was a disaster, should not have happened at all, and it certainly shouldn't have happened the way that it did. Can't begin to describe how let down I was that day, felt like you literally didn't even care about all the old forum users, how many do you see now? from 2009 or further? How many of those players that you gave the "True Fan" award to do you see anymore? At what point do you pretend to care about us?

To say the least, we didn't need or want a community manager let alone the one you appointed, the guy literally argues in threads until the other person starts making sense and then locks the thread after making a sly comment, we should have more choice over our community manager and who it is. maybe if Redlynx had moderated webchat they would have had a better idea of what they had done. I guess....

It's honestly got to the point where when i do occasionally come here i see a post from this guy and it makes me so damn mad. He just shows how bad this place has become when it was so so so good before.
