    Shangri-La final battle video guide

This is intended as a tutorial video and proof that this boss fight can be done without too much trouble. The trick as has been said before is staying mobile, but also staying aware of your surroundings. Move to the other side of the battle area when the bird goes into it's summons mode, and once there, keep moving just enough to avoid fireballs and arrows while keeping an eye on the bird and the detection indicators, to keep yourself ready to make arrow shots and stay opposite vs near the ground troops.

I found that on Hard the bird seems to have a bit tougher attack sequences than on Normal, so it took me a bit longer. There are times it will do back to back summons attacks, and even heave fireballs from close range vs just opening it's mouth. Even with these unpredictable moments, you can prevail with relative ease if you just stick to the tactics mentioned and don't panic. Before long it will all be over well before the Scorchers can send you to hell.

Like I said previously, it felt like it was about 3 min on Normal. On Hard though, aside from the unpredictable attack sequences, the bird dropped once clear across the battle area, which cost me time getting to it. This still left a very manageable time of roughly 3:40 from the time I took control, to the final sending of the tiger, without ever having to heal or attack the ground enemies.

So if by chance any of you are still struggling, don't give up, it's just a matter of finding ways that work.

    nicely done.

For Me when it works out its like yours - less than 5 minutes, but....If I cant get the bird down fairly quick too many demons start shooting too many arrows and it's all over, and start again.
Last run thru took 3 tries and I got er done. Before that I think it was 6 or 7 and I quit as it wasn't going to let me get it.
I think it helps to use the slow time bow feature to get the arrows in the birdys mouth and that helps. Running like crazy when the Birdys wings go out, helps. And not concentrating on killing the demons helps, as the Rakshasa can spawn more demons quicker that you can kill them, so whats the point.

Thanks, I think I counted one open mouth chance I missed. As far as I recall it was a distant shot that I tried right after running away from a spawn attack and didn't get in position quick enough before it ended. Between that and the bird dropping at the other end of the area once, I may have been able to trim a half min or so off the time it took.

Almost seems boring now that I know this method. I thought I'd read somewhere that the DLC they're launching this month will add another difficulty mode for sp, but now I can't find it.

My pleasure, just trying to keep those frustrated with this battle from giving up on it. I thought it was a pretty creative upgrade from the voodoo monster in Far Cry 3.

All I can say it was harder for me on EASY to get this bird down.. very few (if any) demons in the video! how did you do that? I had at least 5 blue demons most of the time around me.

I had the bird down (on the ground) 3x in one session, swallowed/spit out the tiger and recovered again. The "fight" as such is boring as it is easy to strafe the fireballs and the bird as such does not hurt you even when sitting directly in front of you (much closer than shown in the video). When you're close enough it even offers a Takedown key but that does nothing but hurling the machete. The bird recovers and takes off again. Okay, finally I got it finished for no apparent reasons, meh!

The ink monster final fight was better coded as the takedown did finish the creature!

The bird fight is a bit fishy to me.

The trick is in knowing that when the bird spawns demons and hounds, they always appear right near where you were when he first summons them. So the rule of thumb is to lower bow and get legs and run to the other side as soon as you see he's spawn vs open mouth animating.

As shown in the video, I never stay in the spot I'm in once he turns blue, wraps his wings, spreads them, then spams minions. That blue aura of his is your sign to get the hell out of there, fast! When he spawns minions in the spot he sees you at at the time of the animation, the ones previously spawned elsewhere also seem to disappear into blue vapor. The tiger will also stay near you and get any stragglers that haven't disappeared yet.

Other than that just keep an eye on the detection indicators and try and keep them opposite of you (aligned in such a way that it shows demons are on the other side of the map, or across the center point).

If you want to avoid healing, you also need to keep moving. Notice how I strafe back and forth even once distance from the demons to avoid their arrows. The arrows also have tracers and don't move as fast as bullets, so at times you can time your movements as if running through laser beams in Splinter Cell.

If you'll note, the only time I really stop moving in the vid is when I am standing behind a fairly tall piece of cover.
