January Featured Tracks: Uplay Recommended Best of '14

    Happy New Year, Trials Riders!

It may be time to look forward at all the awesome 2015 has in store but first this month on the featured feed we are going to take a look back at some of the most popular Uplay Recommended tracks of 2014.

"But, Shogun," I hear you asking, "how do you determine the most popular tracks?" That's a great question, friend! We poured through the statistics and pulled the top 3 tracks from each month (July-Novemeber, December stats were not available in time for this feature). The top 3 weren't determined by just downloads & ratings but a combinations of factors & some number crunching.

One of the most important stats we looked at is one we call "grinds." Grinds equal the number of times a player fully restarts the track during a session. This is a great indicator of how much players engaged with the track. It's safe to assume that a track with a lot of full restarts included something that brought players back for more.

Another stat we looked at was sessions, this is the number of times a player loads the track from track central. Between grinds, sessions, downloads & ratings we can get a much better picture of just how much players are enjoying a track. Now enough about how we picked the tracks, lets look at the most popular Uplay Recommended tracks of 2014 as determined by you, The Trials players!

    Shortcut by LatChox
Shortcut is a wonderful medium track with an addicting line as well as the most downloaded track of July.

"Zombie Avenue" by lx PURE EVIL xl
This is an incredible looking track that rightly helped earn PURE EVIL a stint as an official Redlynx level editor.

    Mesoamerica by TeriXeri
TeriXeri is at the core of Trials' PC building community and Mesoamerica shows us why. Vibrant colors and a challenging line keep players coming back for more.

    Desert Dash by Istvan TheIdiot
Solid easy and medium tracks are often among the most played, August is no different with Istvan Theidiot's Desert Dash at the top of the list.

    Around of Takachi by DragonMICKY1
DragonMICKY has been suplying draw dropping creations since the days of Evolution. Around of Takachi doesn't dissapoint with custom objects creating beautiful scenery and a fun line that drives you to try harder.

    MBS.TWICE by murderbysound
murderbysound has given us many addicting drivelines and MBS.TWICE is no different. The most replayed track of August this one clearly had something that kept players grinding for that perfect run.

    Ruined Trials by pArA8D
This simple themed track hooked players with a fast technical driveline. In a month filled with popular tracks Ruined Trials managed to top the list with the most downloads and second highest grinds.

    Garden of Syn by Syn65
The track building team Syn65 has been hooking us up with fun, easter eggs filled creations for a long time now. Garden of Syn is a fast flowy track but keep on the lookout for Syn65's signature secrets.

    TTJ2C-Dilapidation by Monstified
Monstified's Track Jam 2 entry was the most grinded track of September and one look at the addicting speed run line shows why. This track finds a good mix of fun and challenging to keep players trying again and again.

    TTJ2C-Green Machines by Wunder_Blunder
The Track Jam 2 recap gave us a lot of great tracks to run and players came back for more on Green Machines more than any other. We'll let you decide why

    Well/MeCaNiCaL2.1 by commendo030
Flowy fun tracks ruled Track Central in October. commendo030's track is a a fast uphill battle that will keep you on your toes if you want to beat your rivals.

    Dust ‘n’ Rust by argo1mk
The Rustlands are the setting for October's third fast flowy speedrun. Like all good fast flowy tracks throttle control is key to keeping you in the fast lane.

    Rigged by ll ManOnFire ll
While this is ManOnFire's only track on this list he has gotten some other picks and consistently are near the top of the list. This man knows how to craft a line on fire with fun.

    Foundry by Monstified
The Track Jam 2 co-champ continues to impress Track Central riders with fun, challenging tracks. Foundry brings the challenge and visual style that had players wanting just one more run.

    MBS.NEPHALIN by murderbysound
Our final top track of 2014 comes from the creator of many addicting drive lines. MBS.NEPHALIN however traded mbs' usual tech theme with some a bit more natural and the result is just a joy to ride.

That does it for the top Uplay tracks of 2014 as determined by you, the Track Central riders. But wait, there's more! With over 150 tracks on the Uplay Recommended feed there are a lot of amazing tracks that didn't make the cut. Looking over the list there were some tracks that were painfully overlooked. To give these tracks another shot at grabbing players attention I've decided to pull a few of the most under rated Uplay tracks of 2014, these are amazing creations that for whatever reason just didn't get the attention they deserve. So with out further ado, the Most Underrated Uplay Tracks of 2014:

Fiechta do Brazil by LORDS of FtRING
The French community is killing it when it comes to amazing customs as well as track building teams. Fiechta do Brazil is a prime example of what happens when talented builders join forces. Everything is top notch, why did you not play this the first time around?

    < nox arcana > by RaketeAal397
RaketeAal397's has given us some incredibly creative tracks with beautiful visual styles but players have been slow to get on board. I say enough with that, this is a builder to watch in 2015. Get started with this one then seek out the rest!

    Future Development by dj2witchy
Some of you may not appreciate this choice but hear me out. Yes, dj2witchy is a builder on the Redlynx level team but Future Development was done on his own in his free time and this track is just good. With one of the highest grind rates of 2014 the players who tried it clearly enjoyed it but sadly it was one of the least downloaded tracks in October. Lets get some more riders on this leaderboard!

A fine selection from some of the best builders the community has to offer.

I really miss the community work of PURE EVIL, one of the most talented builders around. Hope you guys at RL are putting his skills to good use.

I was late to the party with Rakete, didn't even know he built on Evo. One fine builder who I believe will get even better.

Surprised there aren't any Kush Land tracks featured, some of his work is Trials nectar.

I almost added Kush to my bonus underrated picks but all his tracks performed pretty well, just not at the top. I wanted to use those spaces on some tracks that really didn't get enough attention on TC. Definitely a top notch builder though.

Are we going to get any new X platform tracks this week? [EDIT] (Obviously it's not Thursday yet so understand why no new tracks have been put up)

The only reason I ask is because I've played literally every track in the PC Uplay Recommended section already. Logged in all excited then logged straight back out again once I saw there was nothing new to play - mega bored now, bring on the new DLC!

Nice use of the featured. I remember just casually driving and restarting through a couple of those tracks for atleast half an hour just looking at the surroundings before actually trying to get a decent time.

All fantastic tracks and cool idea for a yearly round up of builders and work they have created , good that its been done monthly also as the amount of people playing trials or downloading changes from month to month so good to see a result come from each monthly run.

I remember being really gutted when playing nox arcana because it felt and looked amzing but just simply couldnt get past the really tricky high jump where you had to do some back wheel action. This was months ago mind you and has reminded me to check it out again now i might have progressed alittle.

For me the one of the best tracks i have played is zombie avenue , i think i played it constantly all night once until my eyes almost bled and i am still around 400th out of 4000 or more , that has to be the most atmospheric track that actually does give you a feel of death out of any i have played. Also was proberbly one of my first tracks i played in the recomended , for me that would be one of those tracks i wish i had created lol but doubt i will ever be that good.

anyway cheers for the tracks , good use of the featured for once hahah
