Hearing that the PC crowd have some MODS that allow other items to work in the FC4 Editor it had me wondering what pieces I would maybe use if we had that option.
Also to hear that some Far Cry 3 items have ported over really has me wishing I was on PC because I feel that the console users have been a little shafted especially considering that some of the options with the editor don't work as they are intended and the items per grid limit and overall object limit is terrible for next gen systems - I hear thet the allowance is the same on the older consoles which seems a bit harsh really.
I personally would pay to get the FC3 items, terrain paint, water layers and any other stuff in a DLC Pack but not sure what others think of that.
So here goes here are some images of things I would like to see added via a patch or DLC - I would have liked to take mages from some of the Hurk missions like the hanging ice that can be shot and also there is some frozen ice which you can punch through in one level, unfortunately the Hurk missions won't pop up for me it seems on my 3rd play through.
Cluster of flags
White Flag - Shangri La mission
Frozen Flags
I tried adding flags to a zipline but they looked dreadful, are these flags above actually attached to the zip or are they added on to the zip ?
Red Flags
Royal flags
Flags tightly wrapped around a pole - looks like it all comes as one piece.
Yellow Golden Path Flags
Bamboo Poles to attach flags to.
Don't think I noticed this in the editor
Climeable Vines (These were in the Far Cry 3 editor)
On PS4 all the clothes on the line appear to be static but in the single player game lots of them blow around like flags, it would be nice to get some annimated ones.
I quite like that cloth / fabric to the left of the image above
I called that Stoned Man but not sure what their proper name is, some might like to have that character in their map.
unsure why we can't shoot / blow these boxes up like we can in SP - I would like that option, the boxes we get are just static and can't be moved or blown up.
Noticed a couple of these Buddha type corpses in different poses, quite like them.
Rock Paintings
Love that effect with the smoke - it roses up and along the ceilling.
Really like that large building on one of the snow levels, shame we didn't get that to use.
Snow Over Hang - shoot these and they drop onto the ground in a pile killing any enemy soldiers if underneath - We really should have got these in the editor.
The overhang falling above.
We didn't get enough doors to use in the editor so here is one of a bunch which I found.
Another
And another
Plenty of these fences around the inside of the arena some are slightly different if you look close.
Snow Exploding Barrel
Snow Ammo crate
Burnt Branches - Shangri La
Gate that Elephants can ram open
We get some straw items but there are more in the SP game and it looks like even a straw terrain paint possibly ?
Ropes on cliff wall, there are several different things that do the same job, more obvious that you need to climb upwards when you see these.
Oxygen Cylinders - would anyone use these if we could somehow get the blizzard weather conditions so that air runs out unless you find these
Smoke effect, Could be good to have
Colored Barrels, we get white but in that image there are also Blue Green and Yellow on their own
Shangri La Climeable
Red Smoke Trail
Kyrati Racing - Any chance we could have these to create our own checkpoints for a race map ?
Blue type flower fields, I could not find anything that gave us these on their own yet it is such a colorful choice that would look great if we could have this.
In the single player game there is a football (same as there was in the Far Cry 2 SP Game)
It does not work that well but moves when you run into it, we have the football in the FC4 Editor but the item has no properties, shame because if we get COOP in the editor it could be fun in a map to have a goal with ball for the 2 players to see who can score first.
I would like all of the Brushes from the FC3 Editor. As well as the Character models Just for more variety.
I would like all of the undustrial pieces and wall pieces from FC2 as well.
The ability to set checkpoints would be great. You can do it in Trials.
Also, seeing the fact that these Items have been added through Mods to the PC version, It should be a breeze to add it for Consoles. At least Current Gen.
I can tell you something, it IS possible to change the console IGE. In fact, I and somebody (who shall remain unnamed) tested it in Far Cry 3 and the new objects were there. However, I believe Microsoft and Sony wouldn't really like it...
Also that low budget limit affects PC nowadays too (We have no grid limit, but there's a certain point when the map can't be published), but we can circumvent that- by replacing all object costs with zero.
EDIT: Also oh god, Far Cry 2 footballs bring me some nice multiplayer mass-physics memories...
I would like to reinforce that the climbable vines, blue poppy fields, grapple rope, and oxygen tanks would be greatly appreciated. I would also love to be able to use the Shangri La variations of all the animals (not just the monkeys). I think the white Sambar Deer are beautiful. I think the developers might just be nervous that we can design better levels than them, haha.
I would love to see these added to the Far Cry 4 editor.
The washing lines in the FC4 Editor - PS4 (I imagine it is the same for all consoles - How about on PC ?)
It would be better to have the option like with flags where they will move in the wind.
The FC4 football in action from single player - shame it has no properties to push / roll / move in the editor.
People could make a map that has it's own rules for the first player to get the ball from A to B wins, lots of crazy stuff could be done.
The Hurk level where you smash through the ice from underwater is excellent, wish we could use those to the editor also - and how about an ICE Paint that would blend in with the Ice Rocks ? that would be useful next time.
Far Cry 2 had brilliant item physics, I really would love to see a lot of crazy things in the next editor - as for testing FC3 with FC4 Items, that is very interesting indeed - wuld it also work the opposite way (FC3 to FC4 Editor ? (I would pay for a Map pack DLC but I don't think there are enough takers - I would love to hear more about the Mods on Console)Originally Posted by razorfinnish Go to original post
We had a lot of modded maps on Far Cry Predator - it was a lot of fun back then.
