My final thoughts on FC4 and hopes for FC5

    Hello people,

First of all I'd like to thank the people at Ubisoft for making this great franchise.
The first Far Cry I played was FC2 and loved it ever since.

Although the franchise has come a long way from what FC2 initially was, I do think there is great
room for improvement, especially when it comes to exploration, but I'll get to that in a bit.

I was absolutely hooked to FC3, the gameplay was so smooth and the enviroment so beautiful, I was
so sad when I beat the game, because I wanted more! I was so pleased when I heared FC4 was officially
announced. Whatever the developers would do to the game I knew it would turn out great, as I already
    loved everything about FC3.

And I was not dissapointed! FC4 is an amazing game and the developers should be more than proud of
their work. I played both FC3 and FC4 on PC with zero issues and my god the game looks and runs great
on ultra setting. I obviously can't comment on the experience others have had on PC, but for me there were
not problems to be found, except for the occasional flickering black screen, which I could easily ignore.

I ran FC4 at Utra settings at a stable 50 to 60fps, with vsync off (i5 4590, 770gtx, 8GB ram, game stored on
    a 120GB SSD).

It took me about 40 hours total to beat the game, money well spent!

Now to my actual thoughts and somewhat complains about FC4, which I actually already had with FC3.
The enviroment is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous, sometimes when exploring I just stand still to look around, I
    loved it.

HOWEVER, my complaint with this is that when you visit all these beautiful areas, secret locations, high in the
mountains, deep in the mines or in forest. There is no actual reward apart from a. collectibles and b. loot chests.

The collectibles are fine I suppose, I enjoyed the serial killer masks, spinning the wheels and finding interesting notes.
But the loot chests.. they mean nothing if the money means nothing and this is a big problem in FC4 and already was
    in FC3 imo.

Money can be made so easily, you buy everything and then what... the loot chest become irrelevant and this happens
way to fast in the games. I just wish the beautiful locations to explore contained something of great value.

Weapon parts would have been a great way to keep exploration interesting, keep the player interested in chasing something
while taking them to insanely beautful areas. Something among those lines where you keep wanting to find the items, rather
than meaninless chests with items that don't do anything and have no real value.

What do I need a 5mill wallet for? By the time I got that wallet I had already bought 90% of the weapons and crafted most pouches
    I needed.

TLDR: Make loot chests more interesting, make money harder to obtain and also, more vehicle variety.

IMO, for Far Cry 5, I hope they let the player costumize their weapons more, maybe costumize vehicles and just make items in
    general more interesting.

To be fair, I'm not mad or really dissapointed, I've just fallen in love with this franchise, so I hope there will be a Far Cry 5.

Anyho, thanks again for making another Far Cry game and happy new year, Ubi!

Yeah it's still a great franchise, but technically they didn't create it. CryTek did, Ubi only bought and continued it.

Largely the money system is not effective due to things coming too easy, but there is more than just loot for reward in exploring. Exploring for and hunting various animal types gets you upgrades to carry more gear. Mani wheels will net you quite a bit of Karma, which helps for unlocks. Exploring all towers once in the north will get you one of the best weapons in the game, the Buzzsaw. And one could say as well that just exploring all the options the terrain has to offer can get you better vantage points for takeovers. The last ones for me were a couple rather high spots that I didn't even know you could get to. One I climbed to, the other I climbed and took a couple short wingsuit flights to get to.

In FC5 I not only want to explore a beautiful nation. But also want to explore beautiful people. I want people with various mind sets, from normal to abnormal people. I wan't better side quest, rather than collecting trasure chest, mani wheel (which is like a replacement for chase the flag), lost letters, etc. I want to do more with the Environment and the AI.

That's a good point, so far NPCs besides main characters have always seem so generic. No real emotion (aside the ocasional cheer or warcry) and typically just clones of eachother.
I think Far Cry would be a great fit for moving into a more RPG like enviroment, or at least add more RPG elements. At its core I suppose it would be best for it to remain a shooter.

Finding treasure should mean finding useful pieces of a puzzle you need to finish the game, or to get a different ending.

I want the dark, grim, soulless and grittyness of Far Cry 2 back. I want a story that almost makes you want to kill the protagonist as much as the "bad guys" do, but keeps you playing as him, killing the bad guys.

That would hit hard. Not this super hero, viva la revolution nonsense.

Am I the only one who thought a tank would have worked in Far Cry 4? I mean, I'm pretty sure with all that drug money Pagan could afford to buy a T-54/55 off the black market. It would have worked great with Co-op(One player being the driver, the other being the gunner), on top of being hilariously fun to drive and rampage around in.

Tanks would be unrealistically beyond the scope of Kyrat's economic wealth, even WITH a ruthless dictator hoarding the gold. Plus tanks would have a hard time negotiating much of the terrain. I realize even helicopters realistically would struggle with such altitudes, but they are far better for gameplay purposes, so suspending disbelief there is reasonable I think.

Far Cry's settings and circumstances have always suited light, highly mobile vehicles and tactics, and I feel they should stick with that theme. Even APCs wouldn't be appropriate. It's gameplay has always had more of a mercenary feel than a full on military game.

A common thread in all Far Cry games is their villains tend to try and keep a low profile. Buying too many powerful military vehicles just draws attention from governments around the world.

    1. If Pagan is able to equip his entire Royal Guard(Which appears to be half the Army) with expensive P416s, he surely has enough money to buy a tank.
    2. Kyrat is close to China, I'm sure he could manage to procure a Type 62, which specifically designed for terrain similar to Kyrat.
    3. If he is trying to keep a low profile, why the hell did he consider inviting Kanye West over to sing him a song or whatever?

    1. How do you know he has enough money? Clearly if he did his troops would be driving Humvees, not pickup trucks. All you did was verify that the handheld weapons themselves take up a lot of the expense.

Besides that, such dictators that are in constant threat of takeover often hoard gold with escape plans, like Hussein did. The only thing that didn't make sense there is he kept the gold in a relatively lightly guarded outpost, rather than in a high security bunker near his home.

    2. Close proximity to China means nothing. Besides prioritizing what money IS available on weapons, helis, etc, what about diplomatic relations with China, getting the tanks there, etc. You assume a lot with that statement, just like you do with the funds. Just because you think a given vehicle fits the terrain doesn't automatically make it plausible.

    3. Jeez, this one is just hilarious. First off Kanye is a mere celeb, not a person of governmental power, and what he said about him sounded like more of a joke or whim than a serious statement. I was clearly talking about attracting attention from those intent on keeping dictators from building powerful armies though, not over hyped celebrities.
