    Plot Questions

First, I just want to say this is my favorite game since Skyrim or New Vegas, and that is a VERY high bar. I have no serious complaints, but I do have some questions that were bugging me.

    1. Why is everyone on a first name basis? They did this in the last game, where everyone calls Hoyt Volker by his first name like they're old friends. Here, everyone calls Pagan by his name and not "that bastard Min". The only time you hear his last name is 'King Min' which is kind of weird, when 'King Pagan' is appropriate. Also, Noore calls Paul Harmon by his first name. Yes, they're co-workers, but it's a tad familar for the man who supposedly has your family.

    2. Were the Golden Path deliberately avoiding discussing Ishwari with Ajay, or is it possible they just never knew?

    3. What language is everyone speaking? Hindi? (India is right there) English? (Kyrat was a British colony) A separate Kyrati tongue?

    4. Is Shangi-La real? Are you actually reliving Kalinag's tale, or are you just reading a story? Do you think Yuma actually tapped into the Kyrati mythos, or did she just drug you?

    5. Noore and Yuma have thick American accents. This may be an oversight on the part of the devs, but it just bugged me, since Yuma is explicitly born and raised in Hong Kong, and Noore is Kyrati. (Pagan's Brit accent is actually logical considering his age and background.) Both also say 'A.J.' for some bizarre reason.

    6. The scene in which Pagan speaks to the family. Is it actually Pagan or just his body double?

    7. Noore Najjar's plot seems pointlessly complicated. Couldn't Pagan Min have found someone else to run his arena and drug business? Someone WITHOUT a grudge?

    8. Is Paul Harmon CIA? I notice Willis Huntley doesn't start his purge until right after Harmon is disposed of. I keep thinking he's what people refer to as a 'military adviser' and the loading screen mentions his former employer was an American intelligence agency. The Golden Path made a deal with Mohan, but we never see their assistance before Huntley shows up. Perhaps they switched sides after his death?

Developer preference? It's just the way Ubisoft programmers decided to phase dialogue.

    2. Were the Golden Path deliberately avoiding discussing Ishwari with Ajay, or is it possible they just never knew?
Bear in mind the current leaders of Golden Path are younger generation, easily 2 decades from Mohan Ghale's era. They only knew Mohan the Legend, not the man's intricate family details. In traditional Kyrati culture, the wife remains in the background. Mohan is the MAN. Ishwari was simply Mrs Mohan Ghale, or a former Tarun Matara period. They didn't know how Mohan died, or how he planted his wife as a spy with Pagan Min, details of which will be revealed to you by Pagan Min if you chose certain game options.

    3. What language is everyone speaking? Hindi? (India is right there) English? (Kyrat was a British colony) A separate Kyrati tongue?
Main game dialogue is in English. Occasionally, NPCs especially the guards banter in Hindi or even hilariously speak Cantonese.

    4. Is Shangi-La real? Are you actually reliving Kalinag's tale, or are you just reading a story? Do you think Yuma actually tapped into the Kyrati mythos, or did she just drug you?
My interpretation is that Ajay is visualizing the scenes when he reads the Thangkra. Just like when we read a book, we visualize the scenes in our heads. Yuma drugged Ajay with a hallucination drug. Because Ajay has been reading Thangkras and experienced the Shangri-La visions, his mind becomes filled with those images. So Yuma appeared in his hallucination as Kalinag and her guards as blue demons.

    5. Noore and Yuma have thick American accents. This may be an oversight on the part of the devs, but it just bugged me, since Yuma is explicitly born and raised in Hong Kong, and Noore is Kyrati. Again, developer preference? Just like in AC: Unity, main French characters speak British-accented English.

    6. The scene in which Pagan speaks to the family. Is it actually Pagan or just his body double?
His body double, Eric. Pagan has been living as a recluse after his daughter's death. He seldom makes personal appearances.[/B]

    7. Noore Najjar's plot seems pointlessly complicated. Couldn't Pagan Min have found someone else to run his arena and drug business? Someone WITHOUT a grudge?
You must understand Noore's backstory. She was a harsh Pagan critic who lambasted his regime's human rights abuses. So Pagan had in mind to mess her real good. By forcing her to take charge of prostitution, drugs and death arena fights, he was torturing her against her former good doctor beliefs. Put simply, he transformed a good woman into a monster. It was deliberate, sadistic fun for Pagan.

Not certain, but possible. CIA originally wanted to overthrow Pagan Min. That's why they planted agents around Yuma, his trusted lieutenant. But after Pagan Min managed to convince the world that his regime was fine, America couldn't win support for his overthrow anymore. So they decided to end their subversive activities but had to clean up their tracks. Willis hence used Ajay to kill Yuma's lieutenants (their own agents) and made a deal to betray Ajay to Pagan Min

    I appreciate the input.

    1. I think you're on the mark with most of your answers, but for 3, I meant the language the characters speak in the story, not the VA dialogue. It's never made clear if Ajay was taught the Kyrati language at home, or if the country has indeed been Westernized. The scene with Hurk suggests most people so not speak natural English, and most of the game is in Kyrati. I assume Pagan is always speaking to you personally in English anyway, but what about Sabal, Amita, and the rest of the Golden Path?

    2. Yes, it's clear Noore is being punished by Pagan, but it still seems illogical to place her in charge of both your primary industries. Benedict Arnold would make a lousy Secretary of the Treasury. :/

Apparently there is a lot they dont know, as if you expolored all the spoilers you would find out.

As one forum poster suggests, far cry 3 had a lot of altered state fight scenes and gameplay implications. It seems they continued that theme in FC4, as Shangri la and the Yuma fight both are altered state situations. In buddist lore Shangri-la is real, it is a level of awakening the spiritual adept acends to.

    5. Noore and Yuma have thick American accents. This may be an oversight on the part of the devs, but it just bugged me, since Yuma is explicitly born and raised in Hong Kong, and Noore is Kyrati. Noore if you read all the letters and get all the info the game offers, was an american doctor complaining of human rights violations in Kyrat and was kidnapped and had her family taken by DePluer as leverage.

    6. The scene in which Pagan speaks to the family. Is it actually Pagan or just his body double?

That cannot be known, only guessed at.

    7. Noore Najjar's plot seems pointlessly complicated. Couldn't Pagan Min have found someone else to run his arena and drug business? Someone WITHOUT a grudge?

The game devs made a choice, the game flows from there choices, they try to make a game so realistic you confuse it with reality. I'd say they succeeded. To wonder why eagles attack you, or why the guards can detect you, because "in reality they couldn't" means you feel it IS REALITY.

    8. Is Paul Harmon CIA? I notice Willis Huntley doesn't start his purge until right after Harmon is disposed of. I dont think Huntley has anything to do with DePluer. The suggestion is that the CIA is involved in every little country and uses starngers to do their dirty work, Who knows, I seriously doubt UBI has any former Agents advising them of what really occurs but it never ceases to surprise me at the creative aspects the introduce like in FC3 a wingsuit, and until I youtubed wingsuit I would have never known that was something that was real, now the mini helicopter. It's really interesting to find the military actaully created a suitcase 280 one man helicopter very much like the one in FC4 that would go 60mph and could be assembled in 15 minutes and air dropped to downed pilots to help them escape.
