So I have been giving this ping pong idea a try the last few days. I thought the whole point was to let the higher ranked (usually an already established "legend") rider get a ton of chips and still let you rank up. So I went back and forth for the past 24 hours with the below rider (EHVdeG) to allow him to rack up his chip count. Then with less than an hour and multiple faults on all the tracks, he goes and smashes all 3 tracks leaving me no time to put up good runs. Am I missing the point of ping-pong here? Why would I give up my rank to allow someone who is already reached legend status to rack up the coins and such? I'm already at Level 2 so maybe I shouldn't be complaining but it annoys the hell out of me that I wasted the past 24 hours basically giving this guy a ton of chips, gems and a cool new paint job.

i think he should let you win. maybe he didn't got that paintjob yet?
you must be pissed off, on the contrary, most pingpong players i met are very nice.
once i had a showdown with Cooper_Van when i was already legend, i had a deal with him, 'if paintjob shows up, i win. otherwise, you win."
then paintjob showed up but i still let him win.
the next day, he got a level 4 part from loot wheel and it showed paintjob on my side.
then he let me win like this

ping ponging is different to different people. some people are just trying to get a big pot to win while others are helping each other out. its very difficult to know what the others motive is unless they post here or you have some other contact with them.
Were you in communication with him? Did he or you know what the other one was hoping to get out of it?
Some people ping-pong for more chips to get tracks... some ping-pong for a larger pot to do upgrades with. Some are hoping for a star towards reaching legends, and are willing to give the "loser" more chips to make up for it.
If you dont have an agreement for how it is to end (which you two can talk/decide as the game is going), then it could very easily be that he is perfectly happy to let both of you jack up the chips and pot, and then let the best man win in the last few hours. In that way both of you still get more chips than usual (you did, didnt you?) but there is still some trials/PvP competition to it. Personally, thats what I do if I cant get ahold of them.... but I put my good scores on about 4-6 hours from end, to give them some time to do their best.
For what its worth, when I ponged with EHVdeG we were communicating and I let him know when I was sleeping etc so he could take the tracks over right away, etc. Ours wasnt a competition really, he let me win but he got more chips out of it (if you count the ones that got transferred to the next game on loss)
when ive ping ponged with people not on this forum, also iviark, without communicating it seemed well known that both parties were just pushing the pot and it would eventually turn into an all out battle.
Communication can definitely be a big help. Some people don't mind playing multiple showdowns in a row and switching who wins, some people just want to ping pong a bit then go head-to-head for the last hour and leave it at that. The best thing to do is to communicate with people first, otherwise you might not be happy with how things end up going.
But how the paint job will show in the winning ? is that from the beginning or after ping ponging a lot ?
usually it is where is the level III part, getting that first, and it might appear there next time. Or there will be gems. It's about luck.Originally Posted by mkbennani Go to original post
I guess it's my own fault for not initiating some form of communication with him. I had just assumed from reading a few posts here that the concept was to let the non-legend rank up while still allowing the legend to rack up chips.
I am sorry for taking it in the end, i will try to explain why i did it.
About two hours before game end i was owning three tracks with lots of faults, it was your turn to take them back, but about 20 minutes before game end nothing had changed. I was afraid you were going to take it right before the end, i decided to set some good times to try to win that paintjob. If i had done nothing it would be a easy win for you, but i don't like to give wins away easily unless there is an agreement. When there is no agreement i like to fight for the win in the end.
I also understand the idea of legends letting non legends win, but since legends are also ranked by wins and losses i still feel that it i should try to win as much as i can. And with 30 days left in the season i am less willing to let people win who are close to being a legend, if there were only a few days left i would be more willing to let people win so that they can secure those season prizes.
