Hello people, I'm here to ask if my computer meets the requirements for this game, and in what settings I should set in the game. I've got a MSI GTX770 Lightning Edition (2GB), an Intel Core I7 4770k (working at 3.9 GHz), 16GB of RAM, running on a non-SSD hard disk with Windows 7 Professional. Can anyone help me with this doubt?
I'm using an older i7 960 (3.2) CPU, Windows 7 Pro and a single EVGA GTX 680 (4GB) with an older driver, 331.82 and the game patched to 1.4 and it's working great for me, but the game stutters at times, especially if there are a lot of things going on. It's not enough to slow me down in single player, I'm doing fine so far and enjoying myself in SP, but I'm guessing that in co-op, it would be a royal pain in the butt. I think you'd be really handicapped by your 2 GB of VRAM too. The more the merrier in that department. I'm also going to wait until Ubisoft gets their patches worked out before I update the game beyond 1.4.
Yeah, after I made this thread, I stumbled upon Geforce's website, on the Far Cry 4 part in which it said you could use up to 2.7 GB of VRAM if I'm not mistaken. It kinda sucks... I spent alot of money on this card, thinking I wouldn't need more than 2GB of VRAM, because all I saw in the internet was that more than 2GB of VRAM was only needed on higher resolutions than 1920x1080, guess I was mistaken, now I feel kinda cheated. :/Originally Posted by tunnelcat Go to original post
And for the most part that was true until games started streaming HUGE amounts of texture files, circa Shadow of Mordor and thereafter.Originally Posted by DarkHonor95 Go to original post
You have to be careful where you source your info on the net. The smart ones knew there was a solid reason AMD started using 3GB VRAM some time ago. Nvidia finally got up to speed on that with the 900 series. Took them long enough.
That said, if you want to stick with Nvidia, the 970 is still one of the best values in high end GPUs.
I've always prefered Nvidia, even though it let me down now... I guess I have to save up someone money for a new one soon, F me!Originally Posted by Frag_Maniac Go to original post
Yeah, I tried at 1680x1080, I got 60+ fps average, the thing is that it looks wierd on my monitor as it's a 1920x1080.Originally Posted by DaGengster Go to original post
