    Cyclic error installing from disc

I'm trying to install far cry 4 but it stops at fcc_main.dat telling me there is an error (cyclic redundancy check)

When I transfer the files directly to the computer and attempt from there is tell me the fcc_main.dat Is corrupted

Should I return to the retailer? Or is there something else I should be doing to rectify this?

    Thanks

    I had this problem too.

I found that it occurred because I overclocked my ram.
If you have OC'd your PC, go to your BIOS and save your current OC profile settings then reset them to default.

You should be able to install FC4 without issue.

Pretty sure you can reload your saved OC settings after install.
    Hope this helped.

    It didn't work for me

but give it a shot. When you boot your computer press either delete, F2 or Tab, that should get you into the BIOS menu and in there it should have a restore to default option. Save and exit and good luck!

I had the retailer exchange the disc, and it works fine now.

It seems like it was all due to a corrupted disc.

I've gotten this message each time I've tried to install the game on my computer. I haven't overclocked anything; have run check disk on ALL my disks (I've tried to install it on 2 separate disks with NO luck); and have been pulling out what little hair I have left. It would seem the only solution left to me is to return the disk to where ever my wife bought it (it was a Christmas present) and hopefully get one that works!
