Sagarmatha, how Far Cry outposts should have been | Download Map #FC4MAP

Welcome to Sagarmatha (BETA 1.0) #FC4MAP

The best custom map for Far Cry 4 yet

This map represents how Far Cry outpost shoud have been. Focusing more on hights.
I can't publish this map on the store because I've exceded the objects limit a lot. I also placed some objects underground to fix some missing shadows the game did not let appear. So the only way to play it is to download it from the link below and place it in the maps directory inside your Documents folder.

IMP! Looks like some texture don't want to appear with low graphic settings activated. I tested it on Very High.

I'm looking for feedback! If you find out some bugs I did not noticed please write them below. And I'll try to fix them.
I'm looking for someone to make a video out of it too.

It's may very difficult to conquer this outpost. I did it only once. If you want it to be easier let me know.

    Upgraded the map

Great map! Well done! You should post this on some far cry map forums or something, because its hard to find. I just found this accidentally on google while trying to find some ridiculously large custom maps.

    Glitches:
The rock surface is uneven and you can fall inside the rock. I fell inside on the first climbing wall, on the first ledge with wall ledge.
Also the upper surface is very uneven (final outpost cliff circle). I put animal on top, but he managed to fall and got stuck in rock.

I added an eagle who feasts upon a dead rebel climber (Eagle's cry enhances the feel of height). Once an eagle started attacking heavy gunner,I couldn't execute take-down on him. That might be game's glitch.

I died once just hanging in the rope for no reason. Luckily that happened on the first wall.

    Feedback:
Road is very icy, but that's part of the challenge. It just gets boring to drive after 10th time.
This map is FUN because you can kill them in so many ways: from a sniper nest, with bazookas, with machine-guns or knife, or just use a car. Also, you can use road or climb up the cliffs.

I finished your challenge in the first attempt. Once you get sniper rifle, it is too easy. That's why I added much more guys to kill. Even when playing stealthy/sniper style, there is a challenge, because you can run out of sniper ammo, meaning you have to prioritize your targets. Also, you can fail easily on the dangerous climbing paths (falling from icy rocks).
Ultimate challenge is to disable all 3 alarms. I tried once and got 2 disabled. ( I never cared for those few extra guys compared to the base mass anyways)
I also added more explosive stuff for fun.

I played my version dozen times during modding. Sometimes I restarted because of glitches, sometimes fell and got killed. I failed mostly because i was trying to rush it. Almost finished it number of times, and completed several times.

And this is 1.0 Night Assault version with 333 enemies.

    Video:
Several game-plays showing how to beat these maps like a boss.

Playing NORMAL difficulty I would rate it:
Noobs = hard to complete, but very fun to play.
Hardcore players = finally a map which does't end after 3 minutes.

Night Assault Speedrun with 333 enemies.

Completed using good old Run n' Gun and Hit 'n Run tactics.
[You start with nothing but your climbing gear. After 6000 m climb you are exausted and spend the night in a shack where you find a knife. Next morning, it is up to you how to deal with 55 snipers, 15 heavies, 15 RPGs, 180 soldiers and some other beasts.]

Completed using Sniper/Climber approach. All alarms disabled, outpost cleansed of pests.
(Wacth on youtube if you want to skip using time bookmarks.)

    TY

Thank you very much! Tomorrow I'll watch the whole video and try to update the map to Version 1.1 using some of Your advices. While doing this do you know where I could post this map to get more views? Thank you again.

I haven't found a dedicated map sharing place for Far Cry 4 yet, but i would look for maps where the previous far cry titles had map sharing, like

    http://fcmaps.net/
    http://planetfarcry.gamespy.com/

You could ask devs of pages to create a Far Cry 4 map section, mentioning the reasons for the need (The strongest one is: sharing maps for PC, which exceeds the object limit, because you cant make a large, versatile map while being restricted by those limits (I think they are made because consoles can handle only certain amount of load))

I forgot to mention that i added another path on the left side of the circle entrance. From there you can climb up, then get to the bridge, get down, or climb further to the sniper's nest. It should be possible to grapple from the ground to rope bridge inside the circle, but i only tried climbing down. Also, i havent tried glinding from place to place with a wingsuit. It would be cool though to be able to glide past most parts of the map and to start cleaning the outpost starting from the circle base.

I had an idea to make another entrance into the circle base somwhere to the right brfore main entrance. I imagined it like a narrow cave for ground access - like animal cave with actual bear in it. A good place seemed that fallen chopper on the right side. You could somehow get there, then grapple a bit to the cave and then do some challengint things to get through the cave.

    Work in progress

I know... I would love to have more people playing this map considering how much details it has. I'll try to contact http://fcmaps.net/.
Today I added some missing enemies, ladders, hostages, animals, decals, a secret Pagan Min inside a "wormhole" at the bottom of the cliff under the bridge. Now I'm trying to add (as you said) an alternative way to get into the circled area (where the two big statues are). I'll post the update when I finish the alternative route. Then I guess I'll start working on lights for a night version of the map. Not sure about it though...

OT: HEY @UBISOFT! I know there's a contest out there for the best custom maps... how can't you cosider including maps like this one only because there're too objects in it?

    More suggestions

    1)
I found this channel on youtube called Fallen Ninja Games. This guy has a really good taste of what a good custom map is, and his videos are fun to watch. So i recommended this map and hopefully he will make a video out of it. He had a great idea to put a timer in every map, so people could compete with each other by trying to beat the map faster. I did my modded version in a slow pace and it took under an hour. So 3600 seconds (max limit) should be enough to complete the map, especially if you play the original version of Sagarmatha.

Also, @ 5:00 he talks about the STUCK IN A ROCK problem

    2) I did a spell check on your 1st post. (I don't know about you, but Firefox and Chrome marks wrong words with red line and right-clicking them you can pick a suggestion)
    Here's the corrected version:

    3) You should create a small readme text file with install instructions. When this thread gets more attention, that will save you time to respond to endless posts and IM about people asking how to install it. Put the map and readme file in .zip archive (select both, right-click, send to, compressed zip) and upload to cloud sharing service.

    4) Ask people to share this by giving a link to your 1st post, not the download link. This way you can update map, change the download link in the post. If people posted download link, it would become old after every update. This way people would get the latest version of your map even from 3 year old youtybe video.

Also, try sharing it in facebook, twitter, youtube, twitch and it may get picked up and go viral.

By the way i played the map with maximum graphics settings (gtx 670), and it looked beautiful.

I have never seen such amount of ego from one individual, at first I thought it was irritating, now it's just comedy.
