Buzzsaw, Z93, M79 and bow equipped with reflex sight (sorry, I don't know how to use the marksmen sight) Allows me to deal with all situations.
Many will say AMR is the best sniper rifle. But it has one fatal flaw: no silencer or option to attach one! What's the point of a sniper rifle which alerts enemies to your presence with its loud sound??? The silenced Z93 is worth the minor reductions in damage and accuracy. It won't make much difference.
while i played during the story i used anything silent and strong, but once all the main quests where complete i went back to the bare bone basics, Hunter bow, Ak-47 with classic skin, a Mark IV revolver and an m-700 with no attachments and the vintage skin. the weapons are weaker and harder to get kills with, but with a little skill you can get the job done. i just like how they force me to attack and hide, use the m-700 to kill the bigger guys from a distance, back up and hide while the enemies search my position, and sneak in, take out the stragglers with the bow and if things go bad i use the ak. the mark Iv is just there because its bad ***, and when im in a car and rammed by another car it kills close range one hit and is pretty accurate.
I will list a south and north like the earlier member did simply because you will have a main game play loadout that gets you there and a closer to the end more unlocked weapons to choose from load out. Call it a south and a north or an early game and a late game...
South / Early Game
M79
Recurve Bow
P416 I wish it could be silenced. Most early game options drop either fire rate or damage quite a bit to gain a silencer.
Z93 silenced
You can have this load out right after act 1if you go gather it. It will get it done and get you to those that become unlocked much later in the game.
North / Late Game
M79
Crossbow
Buzzsaw
SA50 silenced, fire rate makes it the go to imo over the AMR
I grab something else to play with once in awhile like the harpoon, lk??? launcher, etc but this is the main go to load out for me and the way that I play.
I think this topic is better clarified by when you're talking in the game due to weapon level locks.
Before I have access to the crossbow I tend to sport
Side Arm: Cannon
Silenced M-700 or the Predator version
Silenced MS16 and never the Trooper version thanks to the sight.
and finally the M-79 for when some one just has to be blown up.
After I have access to the crossbow, I'll switch out the Cannon for it. Also to be noted, after Free Willis I switch out the M-700 for the silenced Z93 and eventually to the silenced SA-50. I'd use the final variant of my setup through most of the game if I could, but the level lock/availability makes it impossible. I seriously want a save game + option to run through the game with all the weapons. >.>
Its easily arranged (not the entire game, but from the end of Act 1). Just roll back to this point of the game (by loading older save or replay), then invite a friend with wanted guns to co-op session. Find some gun on the ground near some shop or sherpa (I hope you know how), then triple exchange - once you touch any weapon it will be added to your inventory.Originally Posted by Cortanis001 Go to original post
Auto cross (for most up close stealth that are not take downs)
Recurve Bow (many uses but the main use turned out to be using the explosive arrows to quickly jump out of a vehicle and take down a caravan)
SA-50 (silenced and ammo mag) (for long range stealth .... clearing bases from a hilltop, also good for taking down heavies)
Shredder (for stealth handling of animals that mess with me while I'm doing other stealth stuff)
A full selection of throwables and explosives.
I think I had all of this late in the South map, before I ever went North. I think the SA-50 came fairly late in the South map, but the rest I had fairly early. Fire Arrows worked for taking out heavies before I had the SA-50, which would even work for "stealth" a lot of times.
