Who it will not be
- Alex Amancio
- Ashraf Ismail
- Patrice Desilets
Who it could be
- Alex Hutchinson
- Someone new.
Any information on who it could be?
Let's hope they bring some serious innovation to the series. Expand on what we love, refine what we hate and you have a recipe for a great game.
I'm 99% sure that the Lead writer is DARBY MC DEVITT (Not sure about the Creative director though.)
Because: QUOTED FROM HERE: (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...er-for-Victory)
"I really think he is and here's why! Well if you remember before unity was out he said certain things about the next game! He said that it will take the features from AC4 ship game play in a different way, unity didn't do that however Victory is with the fight on the moving carriage! This makes me think that Darby is working on Victory! There must be other things as well..."
To be honest I doubt it. That quote doesn't really confirm he is writing the next game. He would have knowledge on heaps of other AC games in the making, doesn't mean he is writing them.Originally Posted by Defalt221 Go to original post
Also I think he'd be writing the game developed by the AC4 team. He's always stuck with them before (ACR, AC4) and I see no reason why he would leave them.
I'm guessing it's someone new from the Ubisoft Quebec studio, because the game is being lead by them after all.
Agreed. He was definitely one of the better Creative Director's we've had, and many have said his game is just as good as AC2 if not more. I would love to see him do an Egypt game.Originally Posted by Matknapers18 Go to original post
I'm guessing he's making the 2016 or 2017 game though.
Considering that Alex Amancio and Alex Hutchinson have directed the three most disappointing AC games in the series, and considering that the director of the best game in the series (Patrice Desilets) doesn't work at Ubisoft anymore, I'm hoping it's either Ashraf Ismail or someone new. After the disaster that is Unity, I hope Alex Amancio never gets another chance to direct an Assassin's Creed game.
Judging by the time they usually take to develop a new game, I'm going to mention two names:
1. Jonathan Morin, creative director of Watch Dogs (I make him the odds-on favorite, because of how they're trying to incorporate stealth into AC)
2. Ashraf Ismail (who could be putting us off the scent with his assertions about not working on an AC game).
I think Amancio has had the greatest ideas in a long time. How well they were executed is another matter.
He knew exactly what Assassins Creed is about in terms of the actual core gameplay mechanics. If Unity had less bugs, a better story and more responsive controls it would have been the best AC yet. The map was there, the side content was there, the combat and parkour was there, the stealth was there (although poorly executed at times) and the open assassinations were there. Ofcourse I am disregarding all the crappy companion and locked away content stuff. But in terms of gameplay, I liked Amancio's approach.
In terms of Victory, I will be happy if Ashraf comes back.
ROFL! I agree that we need a map, parkour, combat, stealth, and a better story. But even more tedious side content, all of which seems the same? No thanks. And as for great ideas, Amancio ditched some of the best features of previous AC games - and where are these "greatest ideas in a long time"? 'Cos I see nothing in Unity that hasn't been done before, and better, in other games.Originally Posted by m4r-k7 Go to original post
