For example , shooting a leopard in the head at point blank range with a Z93 should kill it but oh no sir not these leopards ! They appear to have Titanium/Tungsten alloy skulls.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
Are you hip shooting while running from them or something? Maybe you just thought you hit him. Every time I scope a leopard with a Z93, whether head or torso, I drop them in one shot.Originally Posted by Pinza-C55 Go to original post
Seems there's been lots of contrasting testimonials lately.
I don't tend to think very clearly when I am being attacked by a leopard but I am more or less still and pointing the gun straight at leppy.Originally Posted by Frag_Maniac Go to original post

There were lots of cool sidearms in the game, but despite it's rather slow reload time, I walked around with that dbl barrel as my main weapon, with a quick change to the LMG if attacked by too many soldiers at one time.
But to get back to the theme of this thread, I could definitely do with fewer animals. And to take a non threatening animal like the eagle, and make it into such a constant menace - well it's no wonder Amita was concentrating on raising money for the rebel effort in any way she could. The Golden Path probably wasted more bullets shooting at these birds than they did killing Royal Army soldiers. The man eating eagle was just a huge stretch at reality. And then to make it even worse, they started the eagle grabbing you animation way too early. So many times when the eagle was still far enough away that I should have been able to pull the trigger, I couldn't, because that animation had started and all you can do is wait until it's over. At least they didn't require that ridiculous button mashing control, which simply DOES NOT WORK with many keyboards, to escape the bird's grasp.
In another break from reality, why are so many people just walking around the roads and in the forests with no protection? It doesn't take long to figure out there are man attacking animals of one sort or other everywhere you go. Sure the rebels and soldiers are armed, but the average citizen isn't. And those poor Sherpas - they are so burdened with all the crap they are carrying, all they can do is cower behind a rock when an animal attacks. You'd think they would pull out one of the hundreds of opium pipes I sold them and at least try to stab the damn thing.

Absolutely. In the majority of cases I would be better off getting ready to die rather than mash the button. Or (and I am not proud of this) hitting M and fast travelling to the nearest Outpost so that I survive. On one occasion I was being attacked by RKA troops and just bandaging my Eagle wounds when I was attacked by a bear. I thought "to hell with this" and hit M then materialised in the Outpost with a large red claw mark still on my POV.
As for the Sherpas, I noticed one on the map but as I got closer and he said "hello" in that "Dr Lao" voice I noticed a leopard bearing down on him. I shot it a few inches from him and he took off at a hell of rate so I had to chase him with his pots and pans clanging all the way. You'd think with all the heavy guns he has, he would have one in his hand ?
Eagles are terrible, dholes are horrible and annoying, but the true evil of Kyrat is civilians in vehicles. They WILL kill you and everyone else every time, they are aiming for you when you're stuck in a loot/skin animation, they will chase you to the end of the world in their rusty old cars and crush your body while casually chatting about how nice it is now that the propaganda is off the air.
Whenever they see you running against a sherpa, when you're out of ammo and trying desperately to survive another minute, they will run him over from behind, look you in the eye and smile, knowing that they have already killed you, you just don't know it yet.
Fear the civilians and their horrible driving skills, the children of Yalung in their chariots of death.
Annoying as it is, this may be the most realistic part of the game. It is Asia after all.Originally Posted by trapezius1 Go to original post
Another thing I would't miss if they weren't included are those time-wasting splash screens. I read somewhere that adding "-skip intro" to the shortcut instructions prevents them in Patch 1.6 but it doesn't work on my PC.
Maybe because it's actually -skipintro, not -skip intro.Originally Posted by Nitrotoluene Go to original post
You also need to put a space after the target path.
It should look like this: ...Far Cry 4\bin\FarCry4.exe" -skipintro
Works fine for me.
I did actually have it as -skipintro in my shortcut, but there was something else wrong with my syntax which is fixed now and yes, it does actually work. Thanks for setting me straight on that. One annoyance down, quite a number still left!Originally Posted by Frag_Maniac Go to original post
Yeah no kidding.Originally Posted by Nitrotoluene Go to original post
Sometimes I think the video game awards should be split in two categories, the creative end, and the technical end. Ubi would win a lot of creative awards, but they're nothing to write home about on the technical end.
