A solution, in many cases, is to get the best sniper rifle you can with a sound suppressor attached and simply pick off as many bad guys from long range before stepping inside the mission zone.

Having completed the game I've reactivated the outposts & playing on hard difficulty but but they now seem way too easy probably because i have all the top weapons, also the forts already have their gates open so I would like them to be put back to how they were in the first play of the game.
I can handle the animal attacks & manage to shoot most of the Eagles as they fly off from their attack, also when attacked by wolves or big cats then I run backwards while spraying bullets & usually I survive. I don't like the supernatural stuff & still presumably have more of the Shangri La stuff to play if I want as I only did one, also the two druggies missions were a bit weird so not bothered with those either.

That's OK as far as it goes and especially once you get the Z93. However, in the case of the first Willis mission I normally (played it 4 times now) skirt round the airport but yesterday I slipped down some steep rocks and got "LMZ" but there was no way back up so I had no option but to go further away and Fail. I understand what some people here say about Ubi "not wanting to let you simply do what you want" but that's why I value Sandbox as opposed to linear games. I used to have Battlefield 4 but played it once then sold it because I can't stand linear games.

On a more trivial level, the excessive animal attacks, especially by eagles and dogs, were simply annoying and only slowed the game down. I hope some patch will make them less frequent, or better still, allow the player to set their frequency in the Options.
I have to agree with theses points, especially the animals are killing the game for me. Every time you want to scout an enemy outpost you get harassed by a bunch of animals. It's not that they are too hard to kill, but they are just annoying as hell.

+1 on this thread. I really appreciated the intent here. Yeah, I too am just a bit tired of drug related themes. The continuance of that subject lacks creativity. It's just to easy to write a script involving drugs. In real life, someone like Reggie and Yogi wouldn't get another opportunity to inject me with some substance twice, and in the game it created a conflict with me to have to go back to them more then once. That said, I understand the side missions, and those are okay, but combined with endless animal attacks just became repetitive and often unrewarding, because you'd save someone from and Eagle attack only to have a pack of wolves finish them off soon as you turned your back.

Putting on a Bullet Proof Jacket was just like painting a target on your back. You'd put it on in anticipation of a heavy mission, and by the time you got to your destination, every animal and search patrol in the game was on you to diminish it.

Although I appreciated Robbie Ray .. he was a missed opportunity for Comic Relief. A delightful personality who lacked quality comedy in his broadcasts. The bacon bit was funny, but his concern for the condition of AJ's underwear lacked humor and creativity.

Where as I really enjoyed Hurk in FC3 to the point I was excited to buy the DLC, I found Hurk to be more lackluster in FC4. I'm not enticed to buy the DLC simply because the Hurk I knew previously didn't come to FC4. He too lacked humor. And just to say it, I've not lost my fondness for Hurk, he just didn't seem like the same redneck I knew In FC3.

Can you not use the Takedown option like you do with the enemy AI with the Animals as well?

Then again... this is UBI we are talking about!

Lol, but one should give him credit for his imagination. His comment made my day. ^^

I wouldn't miss the ingratitude of hostages that I rescue. I take on numerous enemies, waste ammo and get my backside chewed off by a leopard, then I release them from the place where they are manacled to a cave wall facing almost certain death.
Their response ? "I don't care any more" "Leave me alone" (Screams) "PLEASE DON'tT HURT ME !!"
I feel tempted to just leave them chained up and eat a nice hot pizza in front of them before leaving the cave and chucking a piece of bait in.

Well, many things should not be the way they are in the game but... this has not stop UBI for putting them there LOL.

All I was saying is, if we are going to go nilly willy on UBI's path of behavior, might as well have fun taking down animals as well
