I have Far Cry 4 on Uplay but due to it's massive size, I downloaded the game on my laptop at a friends house. Now I want to move the files onto my desktop so I can actually play the game. I put the Far Cry 4 folder in with the rest of my Uplay games but when I open Uplay it does not detect the game as being installed. When I click on download, it starts downloading the game from scratch.
Is there any way to install the files I downloaded with my laptop on my PC or do I need to re-download it directly to my PC?
One thing you could try on your current desk top install; is verifying your Far Cry 4 files (if you haven't already done so). Both Steam and Uplay offer point and click options for that. In Uplay; once you've signed in, L click on games in the upper left of the Uplay window to bring up a menu of all your Uplay games. L click on FC 4; when that window comes up; L click on the drop down menu next to the Play Far Cry 4 button; and L click on verify files.....................let it run until it's done. That should fix/reinstall any bad/corrupted files you may have on your current DT install of FC 4. Good luck!
If that doesn't work; I'd reinstall it from scratch on the DT If you've played it any on your laptop, and want to transfer your save game (all one of it) that's easily done with a thumb drive. Good luck!
