Hey guys . I thought i share a little experience i made with how to fix stuttering on low spec pc´s .
Yesterday my sister and her friend arrived for christmas family stuff etc and he came together with his rig to play some far cry 4 coop together with me .
His rig isent the best and unfortunately he had horrible stuttering i never saw before . Specialy when he was entering new areas or was flying with the wingsuit / gyrocopter or driving with the car at some point he had his screen frozen for a few seconds bevore he could continue , even with disableloadingmip0="1" + GPUmaxbufferedframes "1" wich are the commands wich are fixing the stuttering for the most people .
He got only 4 gig of system memory so i said he should monitor his memory because maybee he was running out of memory , and there we had the solution . At some point he was just out of memory even tho windows dident said anything about it .
So what we did to see to make sure it realy was a memory problem is this : I got a G.Skill 2400 Mhz cl 9-11-11-31 16 Gig Memory Kit wich is 4x4Gig sticks . So i took out 2x 4 gig sticks of my memory and put them into his rig so we both was gaming on 8 gig system memory , and guess what happend . He was laugthing like a little childd receiving a christmas gift , his stuttering and most importantly the screen freezes was completely gone . We checked out the system memory usage and right after he started the game it immediately jumped up to 4+ Gig and later on the memory usage even continues climbing to 6 + Gig usage .
To summarize : 4 Gig System Memory is not enougth for far cry 4 .
I hope this helps some people .
Best Regards !
?? I thought i shared my experiences with what i was able to fix the stuttering / freezing problems my sisters friend had wich could potentialy help other users so whats your problem ? After all the only ignorant morron is you , you ignorant morronOriginally Posted by jaguar_328 Go to original post.
He's just trying to help. You're a BAD person jaguar. LOL!Originally Posted by jaguar_328 Go to original post
Yeah seriously, no need to be rude about it. The current version of the game has been demonstrated to have a bad memory leak, this is confirmed by Ubisoft. So he's most likely correct, adding more RAM would have helped with some his freind's stuttering issues. The problem is that until Ubisoft actually fixes the leak more RAM just gives you more time to play before the problem gets too bad. And of course there are persistent problems with microstutter and things like that which are completely separate issues, and there is no real fix for them yet. But the original post sounds totally reasonable to me.
