Has anyone else noticed that occasionally even when you do not toggle the auto-drive function on, your vehicle will still steer for you? I believe it maybe an issue if you select a way-point on the map while in a vehicle or possible just before you get into one. I get this quite frequently and notice the car pulling in a certain direction without my input. I have to toggle the auto-drive function key on and then off quickly to get it to stop. It doesn't accelerate automatically, but it definitely is steering for me.
Completely agree, Why call it driving when the game auto corrects every imput you make and you are constantly fighting steering ?Originally Posted by arias51 Go to original post
In fact you are almost forced to use auto-drive as a way of not having to fight the steering constantly, WTF? Who designed that crap?
Like you said, to me it would be one thing if it showed you that auto-dirve was engaged or on, and you experienced the steering fighing your input, but it doesn't. You have to set a way point and then engage auto-drive for it to work and just setting a waypoint should not engage auto-drive.
And I thought it was just me. When this first happened I thought the vehicle had a puncture and was therefore pulling to one side. It is very confusing--sometimes autodrive is on even though I do not explicitly set it on. It should definitely be clearer when it is on or not, and it should not be switched on automatically. Is the auto switch on a feature or a bug?
I'm using Mouse/Keyboard but i'll try it anyway to see if it is causing the problem.
ShockUbi, I got the same thing with the wheel pulling which also made think I had a blown tire, it wasn't till I decided to take my hand off the steering wheel and see what it would do that I noticed it was following the road. It's quite annoying.
I've not had this happen. Every time I think it may have, I find I accidentally toggled it on, and it says so onscreen.
In fact if anything I've found Autodrive to be far more flexible than I thought it would be. I was assuming any speed or steering adjustments might automatically revert you to manual steering, but it doesn't.
lol.
Anyway, as a follow-up I went into my gamepad settings (even though I do not actually have a gamepad) and changed the auto-drive to manual as well as the aim assist to off. So far this has resolved the problem and I haven't had the game try to auto-steer for me yet.
It will still drive to a location if I toggle the auto-drive on, but no longer randomly steers when I hop into a vehicle.
