So I have a pretty big problem atm,
After playing Trials Fusion or Trials Evolution on the PC for a while,
Suddenly after finishing a track and when the game returns you to the menus I am getting crazy menu navigation lag
Please note that this happens on Both Evo and Fusion
The most strange thing is when this happens the gameplay (when riding) is completely lag free, It's just the menus
The menus work for say between 1 minute up to 60 minutes at times, then after completing a track and going back to the menu out of nowhere it begins to lag awfully.
I have a speed running marathon for charity to attend in early January, I have just over 2 weeks to practice for it and this makes it impossible.
Because when the menus lag like this is makes track navigation so difficult during a speedrun.
Does anyone else experience this at the moment?
Things I have tried:
I have tried other PC games and the menus, Only Trials does this.
I have tried completely removing all instances of Trials, Uplay and Steam on my PC, I have then reinstalled and redownloaded both games, after playing for a while the menus still start to lag on both games.
Any help is appreciated
I have made a twitch highlight showing an example the problem:
(Apologies in advance for the bad language in the clip but this was the only way I can demonstrate what happens)
I started the game, and started a speedrun:
At 0:10 seconds in this clip you can see the menus working perfectly smooth
At 1:31 after finishing ring of fire skill game you can see the menus lagging.
At 1:57 I start to really notice it and you can see its like 5 Frames per second

The only way this fixes itself is by resetting the game, But then it start to happen again!

Hey, I sent you a 2nd PM on twitch but I'm not sure if you got it because I had to add a few links (and may have been caught by spam filter). Anyway, does the issue happen when you aren't streaming or recording? I have a strong suspicion it could be an obscure bug with OBS, so if anyone know of such issues with streaming, please post here. Of course I'd still recommend you try those power saving settings I linked in my first PM.
Main reason is, I've seen old youtube lets plays where the recording software doesn't behave well with menus or 2D loading screens, and it's the only other thing (outside of power saving) that makes sense to me given how isolated your issue is. I have also found posts on the OBS forums with users getting in-game lag caused by OBS.
https://obsproject.com/forum/threads...ith-obs.22608/
https://obsproject.com/forum/threads...ameplay.22454/
Also regarding CPU usage, useful for tweaking settings: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads...s-first.11641/
A way of testing would be to wait for the lag to happen, then stop the stream and close obs and see what effect it has. If it fixes the issue, it might just have to come down to changing settings each time an obs restart is required, rinse and repeat until the issue goes away.
Also try making sure steam and uplay overlays are disabled (settings > in-game for steam, settings > general for uplay)
edit: Also blazejp's twitch profile suggests he uses AMD 7850 so i'm in the dark regarding any specific issues there (and I assume latest drivers are being used). Again if anyone knows something there, do tell![]()
Thanks waistless, I really appreciate the effort to help , i'll try all of theseOriginally Posted by Waistless Go to original post
also, i use Nvidia 770 Gtx Windforce
profile was outdated
Update:
I have tried everything you mentioned waistless:
- Power Options
- In game overlays
- Nividia performance options
And it happens when im offline, when im not even using OBS!
So that proves obs is not to fault
Here is it happening in Fusion this time:
This is only after playing for 4 minutes!
(Notice at 22 seconds how long it takes for the career and helmet to pop up)
As you can see the gameplay is fine but the menus just like trials evolution gold PC, they are so laggy!, It's like 5-10 frames per second aswell,
I have tried everything short of re installing windows :/
The thing i don't understand is it only happens on trials games!, I have tried other games
The menus are so important to me, as a speedrunner.
I need this to be fixed for AGDQ practice =\
Weird bug you have Blaze. I have the same gpu as you, so that shouldn't be the problem.
What you can try is doing a clean windows boot to see if it's not a program on the background causing it. This helped me quite a few times when games bugged.
http://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-7/pe...-in-windows-7/
And I would suggest opening task manager and checking your processes while playing to see if there's something that peaks and causes it. Also, did you test if you have the same problem with the multiplayer beta? Or with lower/different settings?
^I would also suggest trying that. I did a test run myself under that mode, note that when you startup steam, it will popup saying it needs to install a service, click CANCEL, it should still load up regardless. If for some reason it doesn't, go to Start menu > services.msc in search box, and start the Steam service from there. If the issue vanishes, you can start gradually enabling programs, as well as services using services.msc
So Still having the menu Lag problem,
And to clarify this is still happening on Both Fusion and Gold Edition,
I really am confused as to what is causing this, I have tried everything suggested:
- I have deleted and reinstalled uplay and redownloaded fusion and evo
- I have reinstalled windows and reinstalled eveything after that
- I have tried altering power options to high performance
- I have unparked all cores, Note that my CPU is running at 35%-40% when fusion and evo run and there is no peaks
- I have tried running windows on a clean boot
- I have tried setting my nvidia 770 to higher performance in nvidia manager
- I have tried offline, The problem is nothing to do with streaming software because it happens when its the only thing running
- I have tried windowed mode and fullscreen mode, It's the same on both
- I have tried running both games in compatibility mode and as administrator
- I have tried other games, the menu Lag is only present on trials Fusion and Evo Gold. And as have mentioned the gameplay is fine, Only the menus lag which makes no sense!
If someone at the office reads this, or at home if you are browsing the forums over the holiday period please help,
I don't know what to do next.
Perhaps a support ticket to Uibsoft? - I don't even remember how to do this
And it is crucial that I get it sorted I have less than 9 days before I fly out to america to run Trials for charity and this is seriously affecting my practice for the event
EDIT:
Pretty big find here, The lag in both games seems to also make the In-Game pause menu laggy and the menus on the title screen lag too!,
Another video:
As usual the menus have crazy lag,
But another bug it seems... I try to put the game into fullscreen mode and it literally wont change to it from windowed
Why does this stuff happen to me lol :/
Could be helpful if its a related issue, Blaze are you running Windows 7 or 8.1? I've read up a few things with users on Nvidia cards having problems getting games to run fullscreen on Windows 8.1. Regardless, I'll regurgitate some potential solutions I found for that issue, and who knows, maybe it'll also fix the lag you're getting.
- The Alt+Enter hotkey should toggle any game from windowed -> fullscreen and back, what effect does this have? (A fullscreen app will minimize if alt-tabbed out, a windowed app will stay up in background)
- Unplug your secondary monitor from your PC, so it thinks you only have one monitor.
- Toggle scaling settings in Nvidia control panel (display > adjust desktop size and position)
- Reset primary monitor settings (as in actually on the monitor panel) to factory default.
edit: Also in geforce experience > preferences > games: Turn off recommend optimal settings, to make sure that isn't interfering at all.
It happened ever since I built my new PCOriginally Posted by En0- Go to original post
I've tested it with nothing running in the background, Literally nothing and it still happens
CPU is not heavily used I have an i7 - It rarely goes above 50%
Its Getting to the point where I will literally do anything to fix this.
I don't know if its against T.O.S, If it Is I guess I will edit the below line
I will pay someone a decent reward in money if they come up with the solution to this
It is beyond frusrating,
Out of anyone as a PC player im the worst this can happen to as a Twitch Speedrunner of the whole game
