Hi have PS4 version of Far Cry 4 and I am running into an issue where some game sounds are muffled It has only just started happening to me I have secured all outpost and bell towers at least I think so unless there is a second area like Far Cry 3 and now I get this issue. And it is very irritating as I at least would like to hear my footsteps.
some sound effects sound muffled as if somebody was holding a pillow over the effect. Here is a list of the effects I noticed.
- Footsteps
- Doors (Entering and exiting buildings)
- Using melee (Knife)
- Setting a waypoint on the full screen map
I have the latest version ps4 connected to internet.
Is this a known issue what should I do is there a fix.
Thanks for the reply.

Sorry to hear that you are having this issue. Has this always occurred while playing or only recently begun? Please check for any audio setting changes as well as reconfiguring the PS4's sound settings. If this continues, please be sure to contact your local tech team with as much info as possible via "my questions" here: https://support.ubi.com. In the meantime, please be sure to check over the PS4 FAQ here: https://support.us.playstation.com/a...e-audio-output. Try changing the audio settings to see if it helps.
Thanks for the reply the issue is intermittent and only just started it has only happened 3 times now and corrected itself after about 5 - 10 or so minutes of gameplay. I just find it very irritating and wanted to report it.
I did not wish to start altering settings in case I made things worse.
My save details might be useful.

Happens to me as well, I'm on PC. It occurs after Pagan Min calls me at any random time. After the call the sound is muffled. A quick fix for this is doing a fast travel to any safehouse. After the fast travel sound is normal again.
I googled for this problem a while back, the fix I descibed above was among the results. It's idiotic that the interwebs know of a fix, yet Ubi themself keep throwing their standard copy-paste reactions at their customers.
Tried fast traveling to another location does not seem to fix the problem.
Had a go at share factory to show the audio problem.

Just started playing the game, finally get through the amazing and captivating opening scenes, opened the door to meet someone (didn't catch his name) and I initially thought maybe I had been she'll shocked because I heard none of his dialogue. Couldn't hear gunfire or anything of the sort, got in the vehicle and the issue continues. I have tried everything I can think of to resolve the issue, but as I am beginning to find out; the problem most likely needs to be fixed by Ubisoft. Anyone with any helpful tips or info on when a patch will be released for PS4 to resolve the issue? I refuse to continue playing the game until I can know what is going on in the story.
I understand this is an old thread, however the issue is still prevalent on PC. It's highly annoying and the only fix I have found was to enter a vehicle with the radio on, fire a sidearm and reload. I've only successfully tried this once, so they could all be completely unrelated. However, I will test once the issue returns.![]()
