Branch, As for your map Mountain Camper 1.4. I thought it had a great lay out. Two bases, cave system, also you made it possible to access different areas. Like on the roof of a building or jump down the well. It looks like you have a lot of replay value. So the lay out looks good. Everything is there. You have placed weapons and ammo in good locations. I think the AI is fine. What needs some work is the scenery and the placement of objects. The color of the rocks with the scenery is good and the use of the vegetation is good. But you have to watch when you lay it down on hill or you will get floating grass too. Just delete alittle or flatten the top of the hill usually that takes care of that. You have some floating rocks on the path leading up the hill. The camp fire is floating too. If you walk near the lake and look at the fire you will see it. Also the paper in the tent on the floor. The path leading up the mountains looks good but just needs some more polishing to make it more realistic. Sink in the group of rocks. Just some advise I am no expert. Here are a couple of tips when laying something down, always grab it and sink it alittle more. It's always better to have something look more settled in then to be floating. You want everything to look like it has always been there. Even houses. You will still pass validation in yellow. When using a small group of rocks I always sink it half way or more. The more real it looks the better the connection the player has with the game. I think the map is good just needs some more polish. So I hope that helps.
Thanks, that does help. I was a little bleary eyed when I was putting those rocks down on that path. I was adding them to keep it from being boring, and I was all but burnt out. I thought I fixed the fire, which one was floating? It couldn't have been much, right? For the fire in the lower camp, I had to hide an asset under the fire to get a 'do not walk' green area around it, b/c the npcs kept randomly walking into the fire!!! LOL!!

I also wanted to mention that there is ammo hidden in the lake. I feel that my cave system is a little drab, but it was my first map, so I feel that it was a success no the less. I'm working on a tenchu style map right now. I'm having to custom build a building for it, and that is a huge headache!! If I make any real progress on it, I'll advertise it here for you guys.

Thanks for rating my map, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. The next time I release details about my maps, I think I'll be more explicit about the type of gameplay to expect as well. Like for this map:
    Non-linear
start off with 4 empty slots
    high replay value
good for coop (when it gets here!!!)
    not too difficult
    ....
I dunno. I can't think of anything else.
    1st map?
    Bee Hive!!!!

Another thing I've been doing is trying to put at least 2 ledge-take-downs (more if possible) and some good spots for cover takedowns. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. There is a GREAT ledge-take-down in this map too!!

    Cheers,

I am glad I could help Brasch.
. I thought I fixed the fire, which one was floating?
As for the camp fire. The one I saw floating was the one by the tent near where you spawn in at. For a first map you did a great job. Mapping can be tedious, and the fact that you can not turn off the auto scroll make it worse. When I made some maps in FC3 I would have 2 or 3 experienced mappers walk through the map to point things out that looked off before I would publish the map, but this time around we don't have that option.

If it makes you feel any better the two maps I have made are only one and two star. I believe yours was at least 3 stars and I did like it. If you have a chance you should check out my map and let me know what you think. I have a thread on here with a brief description.. Map is MADMAX vs DIRTRIDERS on assault xb1. I even found a couple of minor mistakes after I posted my map. My other map does need more tweaking before I will republish that one, So Good luck with your next map. Look forward to seeing it.
