Last night I was playing through the mission where you have to capture Paul. I got to the part where you have to carry his body and my game crashed. I reloaded and found myself right back at the start of the mission, at the part where you have to get on the truck. Is this normal? Should it not save during the mission as well? It's very annoying having to restart, five times now....
Cheers.
Yeah, it's definitely broken. I lost over an hour earlier today, and now a good 30 minutes x2 (I was 10 meters(!) from the bell in a Shangri-La mission the first time, then just a little before when it froze my computer again). As if the game crashing so bad that it freezes my whole computer, something that hasn't happened with any other game the last half decade, isn't bad enough. Nope, you have to get punished by starting over again. This game has some quite long missions, and I find it unbelievable that devs have overlooked such a basic flaw. Seems to happen a lot with Ubisoft games these days, they seem very rushed. While the games are good, there are just so many ridiculous technical issues and lack of basic features such as a working save system.
This game is so screwed up!
So I was able to save a game at a safe house. I played for awhile, did a couple of side missions and things went fine. Then I accepted the Monastery mission and went to the location and got the meesage saying I had entered the mission zone. The game autosaved at that point, and I exited figuring I'll do the mission later. I reloaded the game before shutting down just to see what game it would load, and it loaded the game right where I left off - at the start of the mission zone. All good.
So I go back now and reload the exact same save game as before - and end up back at an earlier save! That's not even quite true - it looks like I have all the stats, perks, etc. as I did when I saved before, but instead of being at the edge of the mission zone, I'm back at a watchtower where I was when I started toward the mission location last time. It's like the game game is picking me up and moving me to the next to last location I was in instead of the last location.
This is the most bizarre system I've ever encountered. I can't even think of a close second. The folks who designed this are idiots.
That's really odd. For me it's exactly the opposite. The only place the game will do a save is in a safe house after using the weapons cabinet or sleeping. Any other saves are not real once you exit the game. Essentially, there is no saving, only auto saves. Even though there is a save button in the main menu, it goes AWOL during missions. I have a feeling this was a hotly debated feature that was not agreed upon by the crew at Ubi on how to implement it or when to allow it, right up until game release. Thus the appearance of a save game feature in the menu, that doesn't really work. If it were a bug, it would have been fixed by now.Originally Posted by Queeg17 Go to original post
Thats not good, but mine is worse. I had collected like 15 treasure chest and bla bla bla and closed the game genuinely. I also remember clicking twice (at 2 different time) on save in the menu. I woke up in the morning, started the game... And guess what??? I had redo the collection of boring treasure chest so I could make sure that I can complete the game 100%... Plus right now I am experiencing another issue with the game. I can't progress further in story...Originally Posted by flangemanager Go to original post![]()
After trying a few more times, my experience is as you describe. The only saves I can make happen myself are after using the weapon closet in a safe house.Originally Posted by rjdrive Go to original post
One question: Do you get a reliable save when visiting a Sherpa? It seems to me it's hit or miss.
Glad and sad to see others having similar issues and it is not just me. I have been having multiple issues with this game. The game now will no longer perform a save at a weapon locker or after sleeping. The "save and quit" does not work and there is no "save" option even though I am not in the middle of trying to complete a mission. I am in "Groundhog Day," and unable to proceed any further with this bug-ridden game. Maybe Ubisoft will have things sorted out in a few months time, somewhere around patch 3.1.7
Yep. I have been gaming for nearly as long as the advent of the personal computer and Far Cry 4 is one of the most bug-infested games that I have ever played (and my computer is not out of date). It is really too bad since FC 3 worked so well for me.Originally Posted by Dellers Go to original post
