    FC4 Rox in 2D Surround!

I had a look for threads about running on a triple screen setup to see what performance was like and didn't find anything so I thought I'd report.

The Game runs pretty much the same in 5040x1050 for me as it did in 1680x1050 so I'm playing now in glorious 2D Surround in Med/High Details, AMD FX-4170, 8gb DDR3 1600, nVidia GTX600 2gb, 3x 22in Samsung SyncMaster screens, 2x DVI and 1x HIDMI-DVI. It looks fabulous and runs really well.

There's not really any noticeable performance drop from single screen! I Didn't even reduce any settings from how I was playing before.

I have a second GTX660 which I'm going to add in SLI when I get a new Motherboard and faster CPU (FX-8350) I just hope this doesn't break the game!

I'll post a Video later if anyone is interested.

I concur! It looks fantastic and plays well enough after the 1.5 patch. My rig is a bit beefier so I'm managing at max settings except for a few things @ 5760x1080 @ 60FPS. NoAA (it's severely broken with SLI), no motion blur (not a fan of it) and just fur 'on'.. the nvidia fur doesn't look good IMO and comes with a mega performance hit when near groups of certain animals. It is not perfect yet but I'm hoping it is smoothed out some more with another patch or two and some more tweaks in Nvidia's drivers.

EDIT* OH, and i've disabled the tree relief.. it wasn't impacting performance in a noticeable way.. you just don't see it unless you are staring at it with your nose to the tree.. and even then it is barely noticeable so until some more performance improvements to the game I'll just leave it off for good measure.

As for the fur unless they can make it impact performance the same as Ubisoft's fur implementation AND make it look much better I doubt I'll ever enable it.

    Nice setup you got there

I also have an i5 rig here with 1x GTX970 that plays it all ultra in 1080p on single screen, I use that PC on my 42in LCD TV from the sofa so it's not ideal for Mouse/Keyboard Gaming. I do have a wireless gaming mouse but it's not as responsive as my wired one and now I've played in 2d Surround I'm afraid I can't go back to 1 screen!

Have you monitored memory use on sessions of 1 hr or more? Maybe it's the length of your sessions, maybe it's that you have 16GB RAM, or both, but many have not just stated but also shown bench proof that the game uses massive and accumulative amounts of RAM since patch 1.5, even with the game just sitting idle.

On systems with 8GB RAM, esp in longer sessions, this can lead to even worse stutter than before the patch.

Sorry for the late replies, I have been gone for the last week. Was really hoping to come back to find another patch to further smooth the game out, but no such luck it seems.

Thanks, It is brand spanking new to me and I am greatly enjoying it. I want to try steams streaming feature one day to be able to play some games on the HTPC in my living room (it has a GT 720 in it lol) but I have not gotten around to trying it yet. But like you say.. once you go 3 screens it is nearly impossible to go back to 1. To me playing on one screen now feels like I have tunnel vision

Oh yea, there is DEFINITELY a bad memory leak, there has been one since day one with this game and I don't know if 1.5 made it worse or just introduced another one. I tend to restart the game every hour to hour and a half. The performance gets noticeably bad not long after passing 6.5-7gb total used memory. I've let it go as far as nearly 11gb used and if I look at the committed memory it's up over 20gb. Shut down FC and I'm using less than 3gb and 4gb committed. It is pretty bad.

I don't know, I have 16GB of ram... but the stutter for me is present as soon as I load the game, even with medium textures. In fact, the stutter actually got worse for me on medium textures with 1.5gb. And for me it doesn't get worse over time, I can play for hours at the exact same micro stuttery pace.
