So I'm about to lose my first match to flip scripts, had way to many going to keep up with and I'm gonna be gone all day so won't be able to compete again. It's kinda tricky when people don't play the maps till an hour left

A good strategy is to replay every map to your best before you go to work/sleep.
I planned to "jump" in the last half an hour to one of the top-100 players, who didn't improve his time like that.
He was well-prepared for that, though, and after a few ping-pongs and a dozen golden tickets spent (on my side), he relentlessly won me flat in the last minute.

Scripts is a good player but I do better when I have competition going back n forth. I normally would go all out and try to set really hard times but again I need to cut back on my showdowns cause it's overwhelming once the weekends over lol

Hello Everyone!

Lead Designer on Frontier here, and just wanted to say that we're all really excited to see how into our new PvP mode you all have gotten. Seeing all the activity on the forums really makes the hard work that went into this (quite complicated!) feature all worth it!

Also, HUGE congrats to timohthey for being the first person to become a "Legend of the Frontier"! We've been watching all weekend to see if it would happen and everyone was pretty excited to see you finally make it this morning. The '1' on your Legends Badge means you are currently the #1 player in the world! Let's see if you can hold onto it though, I have a feeling you will be seeing some company soon.

Anyways, keep on playing everyone, I hope to see you in a few matches (got my butt kicked by LinkinJon already!). If you have any questions or comments about the new mode, or the game in general, I'll try and keep an eye on this thread over the next couple days.

Wow! Thanks for the mention ooswannyoo I had been hoping to reach it sooner, but had to wait for people to reach the correct rank to be matched up with them This is a great update and I'm loving the new level designs. The whole update has been a breath of fresh air for Trials Frontier. I can't wait to see Butch's bike either! 53 days is a long time to wait though. People are already twitching about getting the blueprint pieces, they'll be climbing the walls by the end of the season.

I did have a couple of questions. Can I be demoted from the Legend Leaderboard? I noticed there are no stars above my rank, so I'm clearly not going up anymore, but can I still go down? How do the rankings on the Legend Leaderboard work? I don't see any numerical value attached to my name so are the positions decided using some kind of unseen parameter?

Again, cheers for delivering such a great update.

Hey Justin, thanks for stopping by! Hope you're not getting beat too bad. One thing I've noticed is a few of the characters names match RedLynx workers - are they named after them? Mirella, Zudina etc.???

You're rank 12, that's not bad for 5 days into the update. I have a few of the top people in trials on my friend list and they aren't too much higher than you. This means you may still be getting some of the best players in trials as opponents. It might be a good idea to stop playing for a couple of days to let them move up and then try again. You'll probably find easier opponents that way.

Regarding your questions:

Once you reach the Legends Leaderboard you cannot be demoted out of it. The Legends Leaderboard is a straight ranking of your standing against everyone else that has made it. We use a classic ELO calculation to determine your opponents as well as you rank, you can find information on ELO ranking here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system There is an "unseen" parameter going on, your ELO score, which we then sort to give you your worldwide rank on the leaderboard.

Also, you should update your Uplay profile picture now that you are basically famous! All of us lowly peasants only get to see a generic Uplay icon there, and considering you are the sole person being seen by tens of thousands of players at the moment, you should totally pimp it out.

Kevin, sorry PvP is tough for you right now, hopefully the ranks will organically sort themselves out soon, but either way you will eventually be matched up against worthy opponents all the time.

- How are opponents matched in PvP mode? Is there some restriction on level difference between them? Say, can #25 rank be matched with #2?
- Which ranks you can't lose and which ones you can?
- (Math-y question) What percentage of all regular player base is expected to be in the legends league by the end of the season?
