That does sound the most straightforward, and I am kind of interested in hearing just how high folks can get those rewards! Still though....right now I am having hard time convincing myself all that trouble is worth what you get. Should be interesting though!

It seems that you only get to roll the loot wheel the first time you race a track, or when you beat the other guy. So if you roll the loot wheel 50 times over the day, there'd be a pretty big stack of loot at the end.

I might try and throw a couple games tomorrow... Right now I have 4 games going where I have the better times for all 3 games. Which is weird, because I thought I'd be slaughtered from day one. I wonder if there are a lot of people who click on a new match without really realizing what they are getting in to.

That's alright!
For owning one map for the whole 24 hours you'll get at most 169 chips.

You said that for 12 hours you have 336 chips.
It means, that for owning one map you have 336/3 = 112 chips on average for like 11.5 hours.
Based on the formula I guessed, you can earn 112 chips from a map on time:
6 seconds * ((1 + 112 chips) * 112 chips / 2) / 3600 (seconds/hour) = 10.5 hours

Yeah, it's in a ballpark of what I theorized, but a little less than 11.5 hours.
It seems, that it slows down gradually, so my arithmetic series approach needs a slight correction.

Game is crashing a lot for me now, since the update... Particularly when I'm in the bunker screens... Often I'll go in to accept my gifts (tickets) and it will just crash when loading the list of gifts... Doesn't happen every time, just sometimes.. very intermittent/random.. Before the update I almost never had game crashes..

You get around 169 chips for each map for 24h (a map is not a showdown)
You get around 500 chips for the whole showdown for 24h (you get 3 maps on 1 showdown)
You get around 1500 chips for 3 showdowns for 24h (you are allowed to participate in 3 showdowns at the same time if you don't spend golden tickets)

So, you are "only 8 ours in" (i.e. your timer shows that 16h is still left) and you won only once on each map and you already got 400 chips? Weird. Send me a screenshot, please.
I got 432 chips for owning all 3 maps (winning exactly once on each) for 19.5h now.

I have 465 chips for 21:14:30 in, so it is definitely going to stay in my original 400-500 range. But this entire thing will become more difficult from rank 25 to 24, so there will be a lot of accidental ping-ponging soon.
