I loved playing custom maps on fc2. People made some insane maps that were incedibly fun to play. Level playing field rather than unfair ranking up. Fun in vehicles. A way to find and join the map or game mode you want.
After the massive dissapointment of FC3, I heard that vehicles were coming back to MP. But now there are no custom maps. And the tried and tested game modes are still missing. It is laughable when you consider the scale and ambition of other next gen MP games.
Surely you have stats. Given FC2's limited sales, what % of buyers played MP? And how many of them played for a long time? I am willing to bet that these %s are much higher than in FC3, where sales were huge but MP was a non-event. I don't understand why you have launched FC4 with even more niche PvP MP.
How sad that I can only imagine what FC2-style MP on 2014 hardware and bandwidth would be like.
It will not be noticed. Ubisoft does not care about your feedback. But I do!! If I had the ability to fix these issues I would. But I don'tOriginally Posted by Kantham Go to original post![]()
Thank you Ubisoft for taking the time to read this thread and turn it into a proper feedback thread.
I have come across a bug since first posting; I was editing a new map from scratch for about 45-50 minutes. It was mainly terrain editing, with a few waterfalls and some water layers. When I was trying to get the water layers to the correct height on a new height level it crashed and I lost all my work.
I suffered on Far Cry 3's editor as it crashed without fail every 15-20 minutes making it very hard to want to make anything. I spent 6 months from the release date with Ubisoft support team and they never found a fix. Please check for anything that might cause random crashes or it might make map makers paranoid that they'll lose their work!
Thanks, i'm on PC version.
Remove IGE, release a proper editor instead (same as production with the middleware stuff removed), community is happy and development cost is cut, while allowing for more improvements and polishing on the production end.
Good for both ends if you ask me (unless the production editor is designed to be a production hell and require source assets while editing, if it has anything that CE1+ did right it wouldn't be a problem... But Ubisoft's engines seem to be growing lumps of design mistakes to me.)
Obviously they're going to pull the EA card and tell us that we (the community) are too stupid to use proper tools as an excuse to being frightened of possibly reduced DLC sales.
There's no need to have a bad GUI in a production editor, for example, now that you think about it, the IGE is pretty much the same as the CryEngine Sandbox with a bigger toolbar and everything advanced removed. (Obviously not exactly, but the general layout.)Originally Posted by usmovers_02 Go to original post

Preset the map name with a small code to show who made it, like [Jol] for example. Then make a master list of all know tagged mappers on the forum, and when a map shows up with that tag and a different Author, add the uploader to the 'spam' portion of your thread.
