Hi all.
Ive been trying to cap the game at 30 using RTSS and 1/2 refresh rate (works like a charm in AC unity, smooth as butter always and no lag, so basically console responsiveness) , but
for some reason in the Dunia engine- this far cry 4 engine, it works great for 5 mins, then will Jitter for 45 seconds then return to normal and repeat the cycle.
Like it almost gets out of sync somehow. even thought the fps never drops (monitoring).
I also notice if you straight out vsync to 50 hz the game stutters constantly , (you notice it strafing). far cry 3 did it too. like the engine simply. doesnt like it.
but anyway, if anyone knows a fix to get a constant 30 fps jitter free ill be pleased. I spent 15 hours plus with various combinations, and to no prevail.
this is not texture streaming stutter i talk about, the 1.5 patch basically fixed all of that. is a weird 30 fps periodic jitter without fps drop. turning v sync off would eliminate it, but i wouldnt play a game full of screen tearing.
If anyone else has come accross this , let me know. hopefully there is a solution other than waiting for another patch or driver.
i5 4690
gtx 780 6gb
8gb ram
win 7 64
SSD & HDD
its got to be the game.
ive tried everything, spent hours and hours on settings, even different hard drives ssd - hdd and operating systems. Plus my pc has plenty of horsepower.
and no other games i have stutter. not even unity. unity is demanding, i give you that, but if you have the horsepower- its stutter free.(not pop up free , as far as mob crwods go)
i think the only thing thats gonna fix the far cry 4 occasional jitter is updated nviida drivers.
to be honest the 1.5 update got rid of most of the streaming stutter. but occasional jitter remains, i think its a v-sync issue. like the dunia engine gets out of sync, maybe with the way its double and triple buffered. cause it will be a t weird times, when the frame rate doesnt drop, like strafing while looking at the wall or ground (none intense scenes).
i rolled back to previous nvidia drivers, and stuttering was much worse dispte the 1.5 update, so i think updated nvidia drivers or a new far cry 4 patch will be the only thing that can fix this.
becuse 15 hours + of many different settings, combinations, config file tweaks, app tweaks does nothing.
the strange thing is (far cry 4) if you pause to the menu and unpause (like for one second only ) the jitter is gone.
thats what makes me think its a v sync thing that goes out of sync, like framepacing??
because the frame rate itself never drops. i wonder if any delopers even notice this. cause its not just my machine, i have read of a couple other people with this jitter too.
