How to fix the stuttering issue on AMD gpu's

Hi I had the stuttering issue and dropped frames.... I tried all the settings and modifying the gamer profile. Nothing Worked... It was'nt until I tried this that it began to run run smooth like all my other games iex.Crysis 3, COD AW, ARMA3 etc... I have my os installed on an EVO 840 samsung SSD. My other drive is a REVO Drive 3 PCIEX 4 SSD... I installed the game on the revodrive. For some reason when you have the game on a hard drive that does'nt have windows on it plays and runs super smooth and is completely playable. I have a 2 R9 280x in Crossfire but it runs smooth with just 1 AMD card in the case... Hopes this help for those with Uber GPU hardware and having hiccups...That way One Sata lane is open for the OS and another Sata port/lane is available just for the game.

    Problem, Observation, Theory & Solution

Your SSD has much lower latencies than a traditional magnetic drive.
The issue seems to be tied to caching, loading, and running low on memories. (Sideport + RAM)
If you have a hard drive access light, keep an eye on it.
Problems seem to be likely if you're using over 50% of both your sideport (graphics) and system memory.

With 4GB I could do all settings LOW smoothly.
If I gradually stepped up to the default setting of Very High,
stuttering only started once I started to progress to different areas.
It was butter-smooth until it had to start paging data in/out.
The higher the setting and/or the more environment to cache, the quicker the stuttering set-in, and the worse it was.

Boosting from 4GB to 8GB helped get me to smooth play at High settings.
The occasional stutter I expienced seemed to corresponded with the game paging in/out data as different game objects became active.

Boosting to 12GB helped get me to Very High and Ultra settings. (Ultra lags - peaking GPU resources.)

Problems seem to be likely if you're using well over 50% of BOTH your sideport (graphics) and system memory.

If you're getting a lot of stuttering and see a lot of hard drive activity during in-game action, you'll definitely want to consider taking a peak at your memory consumption levels while in-game.

    Spec Details:
    I have a lean (not stripped) W7x64 O/S. (70 processes -browser)
No performance/resource leeches operating in the background.
Legal copy straight from Microsoft; not modified by said OEM.
Appropriate drivers were installed directly from their respective hardware manufacturer websites.
    Hardware: Radeon HD7750 GDDR5 1GB, Intel Core i5-2400

It can also matter how much capacity and where you have your page file set. People have reported placing it on a fast SSD helps. Though constant writes/erases can create a fair bit of wear and tear on an SSD. I just bought a new WD Black 1TB drive that benches at 175-180 Mb/s new. I created a 15,000MB "P" partition of the faster edge portion of it for Page File.

I have the game itself installed on my other WD Black 1TB, and W7 installed on a 30GB partion on my Plextor M5Pro SSD. The only thing I've not gotten around to is optimizing my current primary game storage drive to have the most used programs (current games being played) on the outer, faster portion of the disc, which Perfect Disk Defrag Utility can do.

I have got FC4 on my EVO 840 Samsung SSD as well. Windows is also installed there.
Although I have 2 980s SC, I'm going to follow your advice and install the game on my HDD.
I'll report back with the results in terms of stuttering.

    Correction.

I've tested what you've suggested playing the game for a few hours.
Although the stuttering is still there, I've noticed an improvement.

Thanks a lot for sharing this.
