Don't worry: even if a controller does't cause black screens etc it still would be no use.
They still haven't fixed auto aim for the controller in 1.5.0. It just doesn't do a lot....not like it was in FC3. Sometimes with a moving target it sticks but with bigger groups coming at you you simply get overwhelmed because aiming is so slow.

It's like they just didn't implement it in the game settings. Try setting controller auto aim off, exit the game and it will be magically back to on. Also in the game's xml no mention of it. I reported it to support the first week the game came out, still waiting for a fix.

And I'm playing with a PS3 controller. Everything else works fine(controller wise).

I am above the minimum specs and I have this exact same issue. When will this be fixed?

What he said. I have a genuine MS Xbox360 wireless controller and I have no issues with it, whatsoever. I only use it for driving, so the controller is continuously waking up and going to sleep throughout the game.

+1 to see a fix for this, I am also above the minimum system requirements and am experiencing bugs when a 360 controller is plugged in. Game is unplayable for me still, and I really would like to play it without the constant unplugging to get past a scripted event- really breaks the immersion.

I have the same problems. Wired 360 controller causes black screens and long load times so bad I haven't even made it into the game yet.

If I unplug the controller there's no problem, but I only play with a controller so the game is essentially non-functioning for me.

    MOBO: Asus P8P67
    CPU: i5-2500k

I am not playing a support dance with people who will ask me useless questions about my rig when so many others are experiencing this issue.
Probably for the best. I bought the game on day one and haven't been able to play past the intro missions with a controller since then. I contacted support and was told to give dxdiag and msinfo32 which I did, they then asked what was happening in game for me.....bare in mind I started the initial support query with a detailed description of what my problem was, so in essence they just read the title and ignored what was in the first message, proceeded to ask me for a dxdiag and msinfo32....then ask me what the problem was....all they had to do was scroll down an try reading.....days after giving them the dxdiag and msinfo32 they ask for I haven't heard from them again.

    Waste of time.
