I add to this, I suggested time-filters (start and end timeframes to search inbetween) to custom feeds, and that would keep custom feed intact while also effectively turn them into 24/48 hr/week/2week/month/3month/6month/year/whatever timeframe feed. (example numbers) win/win situation for all.Originally Posted by D2Dahaka Go to original post
I totally agree, extremes/ninjas often do end with those crazy high download/very low vote (but all likes) ratio, and it skews ratings all around.Originally Posted by funktastic- Go to original post
Fusion handled it a little better then Evo, a ninja with few likes/0dislike isn't automaticly higher then everything but still it affects feeds after a while with enough downloads/votes to set the % system into action.
Easy/Medium tracks pretty much all the time end up with more dislikes cause people can finish/vote them and track usually end up like 80-95% if it's a good one, while harder ninjas are often hovering somewhere around 95-100%.

You gotta remember people spite others just out of knowing that someone is a better editor, when I say better, more knowledgeable in the editor than they are.
Favouritism can be a problem and always can be biased.
Multi account boosting is always a problem.
People do these things when people did and didn't deserve it, the recognition sets its own example too.
You could always have a vote up system like Facebook has a like system and no dislike, but then people always want the extra function...
Seems like we are in a bit of a pickle.
I'm all for the idea of disabling the ratings for a track. If this whole thing is based off YouTube, then this concept should be in effect too. The thing is, with track central in its current state, tracks without ratings will disappear into obscurity immediately. What redlynx can do to fix this is bring BACK the "most downloaded" search function from evo. It was quite useless back then, though it would be exactly what this could use.
Or perhaps even more useful, a search function for "most played". It'd be a very telling statistic, even more so than the ratings or downloads.
Good idea, extra filters for # of downloads , or # of players finished.Originally Posted by stllbreathnbdy Go to original post
Dunno how it could effectively track "most played", people could load a track, but also restart after finishing/faulting without loading, or exit a track to swap bikes or something.
With more filters to the currently 4 custom feeds people could search more precise without implementing extra space with permanent feeds.
Trials Evo Gold had a pretty awesome search engine:
