    Shangri-La Crash

I have had Far Cry 4 since it came out and everything has worked fine except for Shangri-La. I have not been able to complete the first mission (for Yogi and Reggie) because every time I go into Shangri-La at a certain point when I am just walking along a path (in the beginning after you swim up) my game crashes. The screen freezes and my cursor appears. I then have to use Ctrl+Alt+Delete to quit out of the game and a window pops up saying "Far Cry 4 has stopped working." If anyone knows a solution or a suggestion please let me know.

p.s. I have lowered all of my graphics settings but that didn't change anything. Also I walked around where I was supposed to go but eventually I got to close to the "crash zone" and it froze.

Yep I had the same and logged a question with Ubisoft support about a week ago now. I haven't had a reply and guess they really couldn't care less. It was on the second Shangri-La mission and it froze my PC at around the same spot for 5 attempts. After searching on Google I reduced graphics to 'Low' (on an ASUS GTX 970 Strix) and I got through it. Afterwards I changed back to Very High and kept on going with no problems. The stories about Ubisoft support I'm afraid seem to be true (in my experience) so don't expect anything from them. If reducing to low doesn't work then a couple of people have suggested not using the zoom 'Z' function but that didn't make a lot of difference to me.

Good luck and I feel sorry for your crappy Ubisoft experience in what should be a fantastic game.

p.s. Don't get me started on the inability to no longer skip intro scenes.

    Same here

I'm having the same problem. It keeps happening to me after I spin both of the wheels, which I assume is near the end.

I want to try the low settings.

But I can't bring myself to open Uplay, start the game, wait for all the videos, log in, load my save, spawn really far from the goal with much lost progress, go all the way to the island, climb thru the monkey cave, wait for the cut scenes, jump in the ice, swim, wander and wait, befriend the tiger again, kill the butchers again, find the seekers, spin the things again, and then hope to not crash again. That's just a lot to go though, honestly.

Why couldn't they put a reasonable amount of checkpoints in this game? I mean if you make a crashy game, you got to add more checkpoints.

No sheet, I have got that exact problem @superjer2, spin that second wheel, and make your way towards the next marker...then CTD. after they released 1.4, I had a large area on the map I could not go near, or it would crash so I eventually uninstalled FC4 and reinstalled it and the "updates" and it was then fine (now after 1.5, it is crashing at a set location again), I didn't have to change any settings from what they used to be. So I am trying that method again, if it still crashes I will try to lower all the settings and see if that helps and I will report back to you guys here (if I don't forget)

Who knows, maybe it could be my build that is not powerful enough, or because my xbox360 sits on top of my case or the fact there is a dog a few houses down that barks a lot during the day?

Yep. Once again, uninstalling it, delete the FarCry4 folder in "My Games", re installing it and the update...and I just finished Shangri-La. Ubisoft patch migration FTW lol I think I will just do that every time they release an update. I might be better off putting the entire 3 disc contents onto my drive lmao

I'm in the second Shangri-La mission (I finished the game) and, going out of the cave, pass through the portal, and
press "Z" it stop working. I did this twice (thinking that was a simple error) but I had the same results.

PD: I play in ULTRA Settings in my EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SC (Im saying this because someone said something about graphics)

    Verify Files

Mine crashed at the start of the first yogi mission after it says "round 1". Your recommendations of re-installing (as it worked for you) led me to verifying files first (drop down next play).
Can confirm it picked-up corrupt files re-downloaded only those files (for me 40meg) and i can now play past the point where it crashed.

I think there is a real optimization problem with Shangri-La zones.
For my part, game has never crashed after 46 hours playtime, except 3 times in different Shangri-La locations. When it happens, I crashed to desktop, and had to reload the game / mission.
