I'm not entirely sure what happened since last night, but today I cannot for the life of me get the Steam overlay to work with the game.
Pretty irritated because I can't reply to people without alt-tabbing and I can't use Steam's Broadcasting Beta either (Which was working fine last night). And now '-skipintro' does't seem to work (Or -skipintro 1).
Anyone else having issues with this?
Having the same issue after the Uplay patch...I guess they decided Uplay wasn't annoying and ****ty enough and they needed to make launching through steam impossible....WHY DO I NEED TO WATCH AN INTRO MOVIE THAT JUST SAYS FAR CRY 4...I BOUGHT IT I CLICKED ON THE SHORTCUT I KNOW WHAT GAME I'M PLAYING **** OFF AND LET ME SKIP IT...I am angry
Yeah I am pretty sure this must be a mistake, At least when it comes to Steam Overlay not working. I mean, why would they bar it? Far Cry 4 can be bought in the US/Canada via Steam.
Also agree that being forced to watch Intro videos is insanely annoying. Yes, we know the game is made by Ubisoft. Yes. we know it's endorsed/sponsored by Nvidia. Both Ubisoft and Nvidia have my money (I got the game and I own a Nvidia card). Please let me skip this.
I was experiencing exactly the same problem - but I'm running Farcry 4 as a non-steam game - as here in the UK it's been pulled from steam.Originally Posted by Snougar Go to original post
Everything was working fine until a couple of days ago.
The way I got around it, was to point the Farcry4 shortcut within steam at the uplay.exe (on my machine it's here : C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\Uplay.exe).
So steam is now monitoring uplay.exe instead of Farcry4.exe and the steam overlays seem to work with Farcry4 running full screen and I can take screenshots of
Farcry4 with it too. Not sure if the broadcasting still works, tried it on the original shortcut and was fine, but not tried it since I redirected it to uplay.exe
Hope it helps
This is why I was adding it as a non-steam game, also from the UK. Admittedly would not of bought this game because of it being so expensive and not on steam, but it came free with my GTX 970, haha.Originally Posted by kpm99_sofab Go to original post
Also a big thanks! Adding Uplay.exe and then just launching through Uplay itself made the Steam overlay work - Also the Broadcasting Beta works fine too, woo~
Now just have to figure out how to get -skipintro working again x(
