I have the same problem, helpOriginally Posted by Job3kk Go to original post
This is NOT a problem of the player not being able to count. This is a problem with Ubisoft not being able to count. 17 Bell towers liberated, counted twice to make sure, and it shows only 16 out of 17. Same with the outposts; all 24 liberated, only shows 23/24. I went though all of that only to have it short change me? What a dry c.u.m.
I really liked Far Cry 3, and had no problems with it ... played it 3 times. And to be fair, there are some nice additions to 4, such as the stealth missions where the throwing knives were awesome. The grappling hook is very nice too, and would have been nice in FC3. Bringing back Willis was excellent. Best character of the game.
There are, however, far more problems with this game than the few extras over FC3 make up for. For starters, right out of the box it had the shadow ambient lighting issue and on DAY 1, there's a 1.x GB patch download. Really? Not everyone has a 40Mb connection fellas. Also, there's just too damned many NPCs in need EVERYWHERE you go. You're in a fire fight with a dozen other friendly and foes around you, and just when you're about to relieve yourself of that annoying heavy, an eagle singles YOU out and while waiting for the tiresome "OMG, an eagle's attacking me" cut-scene, you get wasted by the heavy. Lame. And while the bait was an interesting idea, it pretty much makes hunting animals for crafting a joke. Toss ... here kitty kitty, BOOM, rinse, repeat. The northern most fortress can be completely cleared from just outside the one gate, but when you go inside, it doesn't acknowledge you've liberated it. Huh? Everyone's dead. Where's my prize? Someone was probably hung over from a weekend bender when they verified that one. And the final scene with Min was less than underwhelming. "Shoot me or we can scatter your mother's ashes". Bang, done. Really? That's it? No slave girl to rescue from the back room and ride you for a reward? It was like a kid opening an anticipated present only to find a pair of mittens inside. Yawn.
In all, the game was pretty and had some nice terrain and other visuals, but overall a disappointment. 3 out of 5 stars. You can do better Ubi.
I have had all these issues and more. Not only does it say that there are only 23/24 outposts liberated, but I also can`t complete the Armed Escorts either. I get to the end, it says that I`ve completed it and I go to leave.....then it threatens me with the whole "If you leave this area, this mission will not be completed" crap. I can also tell you guys that this game is really not optimized the best. If you play anymore than 3 hours at a time, you get horrendous frame rate drops and your RAM will want to simply take a dump. Until you restart the game, it`s impossible to play due to the constant lockup. But I`ve actually saved the best complaint until last......! @Ubisoft....How ****ing hard is it to make a game that actually saves your progress each time? I ran around for 2 and a half hours getting some Masks and Letters etc only to find that none of it was saved (even though I saved before switching off)! Do you know how much that pisses me off? I`ll agree with Rwey 51 that FarCry3 was an awesome game. I`ve personally played FC3 at least 6 times through and never had an issue once. In fact, I would classify FC3 as being in my top 5 favorite games of all. How the hell did you stuff up FC4 so bad Ubisoft? Ubisoft, I would suggest that you fix your crap before you get an already tarnished name thrown in the trash heap for this effort!

Have you finished all of the campaign missions? I see that Rwey51 has, but the OP doesn't mention. I had trouble with the last bell tower and the last outpost. I put those challenges on hold and finished all of the campaign missions. Afterwards, the last tower and outpost were mysteriously quite trivial to achieve and I received full credit for both.
I'm not disputing that the game is buggy as hell and I have no insider knowledge, but perhaps there is a prerequisite and/or order that needs to be adhered to, in order to receive credit? IDK
I've not finished all the campaign missions, but I have finished and received credit for 17/17 bell towers and 24/24 outposts. Not trolling, just stating that for what ever reason, some of you are suffering from a game bug. Said bug does not require you to finish all the missions in order to receive the total number of bell towers or outposts. Just sayin..
I suspect if things are done just right, that it probably does count bell towers and outposts correctly. Sounds like your experience.Originally Posted by Stockdale50 Go to original post
Thing is, this is an open world, non-linear game and it freely allows you to explore and do other stuff in seemingly any order. If there is a particular order that's required for achievements to register correctly, then it SHOULD NOT ALLOW YOU TO DEVIATE from that order ... or at least present an alert that's as annoying as an eagle attack to get your attention. I saw nothing of the sort.
Now, little things like an NPC getting stuck and twitching around, or your player clipping behind some rocks and getting stuck ( which did happen in one cave ) ... I can live with that. Geometry of FC4's caliber is complex and a few collision/clipping problems are more than acceptable. But, to present you with choices where the wrong one will mess up the achievements is just sloppy progress verification. Not having a clue what this proper order is, I will NOT be playing this game through again, and frankly I'll be very hesitant to every buy another Ubisoft game.
So much potential this game had, but like a poor marksman, they missed the target.
