I've read that countless others have experienced this same issue and yet it seems it's not included in Ubisoft's patch list. So I wanted to emphasise this issue clearly....
When using the Nvidia preset, the option EnableNvidiaPCSS in Far Cry 4's Gameprofile.xml (located in Documents\My Games\Far Cry 4\c454bd77-ae4e-404f-bdf9-0f302298919b) gets set to 1, enabling Percentage Closer Soft Shadows. Enabling "Soft Shadows" through the in game menu is no different whatsoever to "Ultra".
However, when EnableNvidiaPCSS is set to 1 in the .xml, by either setting the Nvidia preset or by setting to 1 manually, and you are in a snowy region such as the Himalayan mountains (others have reported also in North Kyrat where it likely snows), shadows perform very strange actions, not rendering where they should be and following the player.
Screenshot and video evidence of the issue can be found in both of these links:

Please fix this issue ASAP Ubisoft, it's yet another Nvidia feature that can't be used properly along with hairworks. I understand you're busy fixing your botched Assassin's Creed Unity release but that's no excuse to leave another unfinished game as it is.
