    Simulated Fur is useless for me. In some circumstances it reduced my framerate with 25 FPS (GTX Titan), which is unacceptable.

    Yeah, I've disabled both solutions because I don't like how they have done it. Considering the poor performance of the game already, the fur tech has really become an unnecessary "degraded luxury" that does better at killing your fps than adding something substantial to the overall game experience.
