Started the game, select ride, then the first level and after the loading screen I get the EXE has stopped working error.

Hope this helps. For now I can run it on another pc but I'd like to use my primary machine.

I have reinstalled the game, Video card drivers are up to date, all windows updates are done, brand new laptop with windows 8.1 pro 64bit.

For now can you try to re-install DirectX on your PC?

I would but windows 8.1 ships with Directx 11.2, there is no installer for this and it is controlled by windows update. I installed the DX runtime from july 2010 as sometimes there are older missing files. Are there any requirements like .net or anything else that needs to be installed? I wish your dump files were plain text so we could troubleshoot on our own a little more.
