The Shangri-La missions thus far were challenging, I have to agree, but the fourth one is unplayable for me due to the full screen flashing that happens every 10 seconds. This induces a severe headache very quickly. The part where everything blurs out isn't funny either, but at least it's not as annoying as the full-screen white flash. No warning that this can induce headaches or epilepsy attacks anywhere either, not in the game, not on the box. And of course, as with everything else, no option to turn it off.
So, I won't be able to finish the game completely then, as I am not going near that mission again. My last bout of headache was enough, thank-you-very-much.
Most all the other games I play(ed) thus far don't do full-screen slow flashing with white light.
So here to stay and to complain about the totally unnecessary full-screen slow flashing with white light in Shangri-La mission 4. That world is looking bad as it is already anyway, the flashing isn't needed. If they wanted lightning, make it lightning. That doesn't slow flash the whole damn screen.
I personally don't remember any flashing occurring. i remember the screen going blurring when being hit by one of the projectiles & when the Rakshasa bird summons more Rakshasa and emitting a light aura in the process, nothing "full screen" though. I really enjoyed the Shangri-la missions and the game overall so seeing as this is putting off the entire game is quite disheartening. I'm sure you've tried lowering the brightness? perhaps even wearing sunglasses for that bit could help (a bit drastic and shouldn't be required, not your fault i know). also the Yogi and Reggie missions involve full screen colouring due to the hallucinogenics you take but not flashes, just a heads up incase that kind of thing irritates you also.Originally Posted by Ageless93 Go to original post
I have been trying to get past this for the last three hours (medium difficulty). It is just absurd!Originally Posted by dinobragoli Go to original post
You are supposed to shoot the big bird in the mouth. I am so busy healing myself, in slow motion, that I can't get any shots off.
You are correct, this is ruining the game for me.
WTF was Ubisoft thinking?
It has become easy now that I have a good sniper rifle, but your comments aren't overly helpful. Actually they're just pointless.Originally Posted by kirksteruk Go to original post
It sucks for the poster that his aversion to the flashes is stopping him from playing a part of the game and I suspect it would be a fairly easy option for the game developers to add. They quite possibly haven't given it enough thought. Especially as he noted that without warnings it is actually a little negligent. I don't remember them either but I'm sure they're there. Can someone else get you through that level.
I've just finished the final Shangri-La level on medium and it is very difficult, and frustrating as you have to do it start to finish or go back to the start. Good luck with it!
