I dont know if this will help or not but...Originally Posted by HarleyBelt Go to original post
Unplug any console type players and use keyboard and mouse with default settings if you aren't.
Go into Start> Control Panel > System > Device Manager and remove all HID (human interface devices) except the USB ones.
It helped me doing the HID when my game started to not load with an error screen, not black screen
Do you have a graphics card or is it onboard? what processor is in your rig? To find out hit Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System > ram and speed
Do you have Win7 64 bit or 32 bit system? I think it only works on 64 bit.
Yes, do exactly this because we all know therein lies the answer to all of your questions... Please!Originally Posted by xMiiSTY Go to original post
Allegedly UBI will fix the issue on the next update, God only knows when that is. Meanwhile, if you want to play the game some time in the month of December, Google FC4 Black Screen Fix and you will find various answers, one of them you have to edit your GamerProfile.xml file. If, on the other hand, you never want to play the game or do so around January of next year... go ahead and contact support like XMiisty suggested.
Hi Andy,
Thank you for trying to help! I'll try the HID removal thing.
"Do you have a graphics card or is it onboard?" - I guess it's onboard - Display adapter Intel (R) HD Graphics
"what processor is in your rig?" - Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-2600 CPU @3.40 GHz - installed memory (RAM) - 8.00 GB Win 64 bit OS
Thanks again
I was having various issues like freezes on start (press any button screen) black screen etc. before I made it run.
So here is what I have done. First of, I reverted back to Nvidia Driver 344.65. I tried all of the drivers, these are the only stable for me. EVGA GTX 580 Classified 3GB.
Once you are done, try to run your game in borderless.
Press the start button type in Far cry 4 among other things there will be folder called fcc08ad9-29af-4674-a09e-1a2dba8e533f or something similar. open it, you will see GamerProfile make a copy of it as back up and then right click on that and edit. Press CTR+F type in fullscreen enter
It will find the "Fullscreen="1" change 1 to 0. Next to it is Broderless="0" change 0 to 1
Also change DisableLoadingMip0 to 1
MouseAccelerationOn to 0
UseMouseSmooth to 0
Save it
Try to run the game.
I also had to go to the game installation folder the into the BIN folder and had to change the compatibility of the FarCry4.exe to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Windows 7 even though I have Win 7 Ultimate 64bit version. That was weird. and also apply "Privilege Level" to run as administrator.
And last I had to disable steam and ubisoft in game overlay.
Good luck man.

Hmmmm are you the "Owner" of the Steam/Ubisoft folder? If not you will have to take ownership. This is happening when you have windows UAC activated. Soooooooo
Go to the FC4 installation folder and right click on the folder - Properties - Security - edit; see if you can see your name between group of user names.
Like this:
Beast is my PC Login name, make sure your name is there. If not click on Add...
Type in your PC login name and click check names. If it shows up automatically just click ok Make sure you have full control and go ahead and test it.
You should probably do this also for the save folder.
Press start type in Far Cry 4 a folder called fcc08ad9-29af-4674-a09e-1a2dba8e533f will show up. Open it. Go up tow levels. you should be in My Documents. Right click on my games folder and do the same as above.
Let me know how you do
