I've been gaming for over 20 years and have played all of the major releases in that period. It's a pretty big back-catalog as you'd imagine. But for the first time in all that time, I have decided to stop buying games from a publisher -no points for guessing who- until they have a fundamental change of culture in their business and start treating their customers with respect. The company does NOT have that culture of respect today.
Farcry 4 is nearly a brilliant game and yet it is fundamentally broken with the micro-stutter issues. It ruins the immersion and without that, you do not have a game that can suck you into the world and captivate you. SLI being fundamentally broken is another game-killer for me. Unity was also released in a state no-one, absolutely no-one in the company can have thought was acceptable. Yet they went ahead and did it anyway. Ubisoft does this because they don't have a culture of respect for their customers where they wouldn't dare to release something other than great product because they value us.
Since launch the lack of public apologies (bar a couple of brief snippets) from Ubisoft senior management also tells me they simply don't care about how I feel about their product or their company.
So that's it - I'm out of a company that treats me like this. I will spend my disposal income on companies that do threat me well and there's plenty of them. One of the only benefits of being an older gamer is that I have to make a living too and I know how a lot of great companies do work. For those people at Ubisoft who might read this, I recommend buying 20 copies of "Creativity, Inc" by Ed Catmull who co-founded Pixar and is the inventor of the z-buffer among other things. An uber-technologist and fantastic manager, his entire book is about how they worked like dogs to create a fantastic culture inside Pixar and never DARED to release something they didn't think was fantastic and polished because their company's reputation relied on it and they respected the people who paid them money to be in existence.
You should give it to every senior executive in your firm and for those of them who don't get it, fire them immediately. I feel incredibly sorry for the grafting coders who are forced to have their work released broken and unfinished by this shoddy business.
You will be out of it for a loooong time then... I know I have been since 2005 and I have yet to find a UBI shooter game that is half or 3 quarter finished at the time of launch day. Best thing to do is seat and wait for all the smoke to settle, wait to see how many things their patches break that were working and make a decision of whether 5 to 8 bucks (used purchase) is worth the price for playing the Campaign a couple of times.
Some other UBI employees acting as regular members want you to believe that because of the advance technology they are using is OK to purchase a 60 USD broken game so you can be their Beta Tester and eventually (don't really know how much time that is in UBI's reality) they will fix the game. I am sure that what they want is to help their wallet get even fatter than what already is, be quiet until they churn the next title and buy it again... rinse and repeat. According to them, 60 USD is a small price to pay for a potential yet, broken game.
You can go back to the Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter and Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 forums and see that those games are still alive and with a lot of potential and yet, they were never finished or patched correctly.
It really is a shame how UBI treats is customers. The PC world is where it all began and they now give us Beta.........NO ALPHA releases. Another reason I will not be buying any more UBI titles is because of the P2P multiplayer...................P2P multiplayer is the worst system I have ever seen, I first experienced it in a COD title and have never been a fan since. Host migration is a common occurrence and that is not how multiplayer should be. Give us PC players dedicated servers for multiplayer, not some p2p console crap!
They don't care. Ubi does not care what you think. Ubi does not care what you say. You are wasting your breath.
They will blame pirates for poor PC sales. The real reason for poor PC sales is that the game is broken and most PC gamers won't pay for broken games and also won't buy games form dishonest, disrespectful, shameful companies like Ubisoft.
FC3 did fine sales-wise and there were just as many pirates back then..
Ubisoft just doesn't give a flying fig about the customer or their own pride anymore. They can go pound salt for all I care.
Look at this pathetic list of bugs.
Terrible mouse aiming/acceleration
Black screen/ game unplayable
Key-bind crap issues
game not saving issues
severe Stuttering
no 5.1 DTS /Dolby Digital audio via optical cable
shadow gfx bugs
un-skippable, ridiculously long and boring cut-scenes
shadows black SLI bug
several other glitches and gfx bugs
Unbelievable.. and game breaking.. and ridiculous.. I won't (can't anyways) play this broken crap and i spent $60 on it.

Cant work out from your snobby posts whether your a troll or just a casual gamer who hasn't a clue what they are talking about..... Or both!
Whenever there's a game that has issues, there's always someone to say "no issues because I fail to see them".Originally Posted by USAdystopia Go to original post
