unplugging x360 controller seems to fix black screen and stutters

    win7 ult x64, i7-2630qm, gtx 560m, 8gb ram, wired official x360 controller

    what the heck

plugging it in, taking it out, definitely the problem. isn't 1.4 patch supposed to help this? i have it...

It's the same for me and hundreds of other people, I use a PS3 controller and unless I either unplug it or alt-tab constantly the game doesn't work. Good luck getting any response though because not a single person here has addressed the issue after the patch that was designed to fix it did absolutely jack ****. I like how I can play a 1 man, $10,000 (if that) indie game that perfectly supports controllers with no issues and a $30-40 million AAA game from the 3rd biggest game company in the world can't manage to make it work.

Try running the game at 24 hz instead of 60 hz. It worked for me with my wireless xbox 360 controller. Before that had to alt/tab every few minutes and had broken spawns everywhere. Still have to do it once and a while. It was completely unplayable before.

Problem fixed with a PS4 controller

I got a PS4 recently and was got curious if this Far Cry 4 PC bug was still present if I used a PS4 controller instead. I'm happy to see that I can finally play the game now using the PS4 controller with USB cable connected to my PC. I can still leave my wireless XBOX 360 controller receiver plugged in, but the controller should be off. Not really a solution to the problem, but at least I can confirm that the glitch doesn't happen with all gamepads.

in game check under settings. Go to options section. Click on video options. It is right under screen resolution. There is an option for 24/50/60 refresh rates. We play at 24. Anything above that and stuff starts not spawning or people stop moving and weird stuff. I submitted a support ticket to UBI and they just gave a bs runaround to check my system. It's funny I run every other game I have on MAX settings a 60+fps with no issues using the Microsoft wired or wireless 360 controllers. I'm thinking of trying the PS4 controller to see if that makes a difference.
Hate to blow $60 bucks on a controller for one game though. UBI made it work in FARCRY 3 and it's the same engine.
