    They are saved on cloud because in the event of a HD failure you'd have to start all over again! Makes sense.

    I've gotten into the habit of choosing "Save" from the menu, then doing a "Save and Quit". It's worked so far for me.

    I have disabled cloud saves in Uplay and Steam and all my games do their saves on a local drive, including Far Cry 4.
    Also, I have the habit to backup my saves to Google Drive. When you have physical access to your saved games, you can have 50 different saves if you want to.
